I think so. That's what I heard.Wasn't the jacket P. Stewarts request?
The First Contact ones look fine to me. The red tunics on the other hand look hot, formal and uncomfortable. Imagine wearing a turtleneck with a business suit and belt on the outside.I always thought that the uniforms worn First Contact and beyond looked like they would be hot and uncomfortable to wear.
IMO, they're "blah" in the way NASA uniforms are...Well Enterprise's uniforms looked practical, with all the zips and everything. I just thought the overall design was a bit blah.

I also thought they should have had rank insignia on the arm like in TOS, but that may be nitpicking.
but the sheen was too high.

Season 7 plot right there.Maybe Picard was just jealous of Troi's massive wardrobe.
Except, they NEVER used the pockets, and the ship was nowhere near NASA primitive. For me I just found them incongruous.
Additionally because the shoulder stripe and rank pips echoed TNG's Federation instead of a pre-TOS United Earth. Maybe they should have used air force insignia like on Stargate, pre Federation.
It's a shame we never saw Picard in a skant, now I think about it. That would have been better for warmer climates, and he could keep the jacket for the cold.
