A ‘Talking Dead’-Style STAR TREK ALL ACCESS Aftershow May Be In The Works

WOW!

Mind blown! I have been dreading all shows getting one of those after party's but I do hope this one comes to pass.

I've never seen any interest in these forms of show. From my (admittedly) limited exposure, the entire venture seems to be a self-congratulatory backslapping events. If it is to be done then it needs to be fully interactive giving fans the opportunity to truly react to production crew members.

What I would love to see (well, hear) is a podcasting by Fuller et al for each episode, made available shortly after airing, akin to Ron Moore on BSG/Outlander. I enjoyed that format as it gave Moore the opportunity to try and explain his/the crews motivations for storytelling, and he wasn't shy in critiquing himself either. That was limited in scope given it was mostly just him, sat in bed with a Whisk(e)y of the week, a cigar/cigarette and his wife randomly in the background. It could be expanded to the showrunner, the writer, the director, a relevant cast member and production team member (SFX designer, set designer etc) and a real, informative roundtable could bed had whilst the rewatching the episode.

Hugo - currently just hoping the proper show turns up on a TV station he has access to!!

Talking Trek would be great. I enjoyed Talking Bad after Breaking Bad and Talking Dead after TWD series.

Doctor Who Confidential
Torchwood Declassified
EastEnders Revealed
Extra Gear
The Xtra Factor
Heroes Unmasked

etc etc

The UK loves these magazine behind the scenes shows!!

I hope they worry about making the new show the best it can be, before worrying about "after shows".

I used to enjoy the BSG podcasts as well, they offered a great insight into the creative process. I'd enjoy something like that, though a full series dedicated to audience response would be overdoing it I think. As much as I've loved Game of Thrones, or The Walking Dead, or Breaking Bad, I've never bothered with the reaction show.

The only other announced original program on CBSAA is The Good Wife untitled spin-off series that would be released exclusively on CBS All Access in spring 2017.
I believe CBS Interactive division wants CBS All Access to be as successful as possible. I think that this is cheap programming (a weekly live talk show with studio audience) that they can say is yet another "original series" even though it is unscripted. It is filler material but keeps people streaming and eyeballs glued to CBSAA since it is a live program. CBS knows Trek fans will watch the new episodes the day and primetime evening that they are released. I wouldn't be surprised if the new Trek series is released weekly at 9:00 PM local time in USA and is a 60 minute program including commercials.
I would actually want a 3-4 minute promo featurette each week on CBSAA about the previous episode with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. Yes we will expect this stuff on the season 1 Blu-ray release as VAM (Value-Added-Material) but they have featurettes on iTunes similar to HBO First Look featurettes. I would sit through 2 30 second commercials to watch this each week.
