Sure, but the balance of probability would weigh in favour of him being involved right up to the hinge.Perhaps... but considering the fact that Alec tends to have a hard time keeping straight what he is and what he controls, he could have been blowing smoke up the ol' tailpipe.

It is my opinion that Alec has been squirreling money away in his various entities since August of 2015, when he - again in my opinion - was told by CBS that he better stop or else.
As he needs the physical space to store his props - although Propworx is rumored to be in trouble as well - and he desperately wants to cling to the notion that he is a big-time producer, he has to preserve the studio.
To do that he needs funds that can't be touched, and he has been actively shuffling them into hidey holes for some time.
Link?Gabriel Charles Koerner of Trekkies fame has a fun thread up on his Facebook page. Lots of interesting discussion of various issues surrounding the production of Axanar, and some pictures of the partially completed sets. Alec had made a bunch of comments, but deleted them yesterday - typical behavior for him.
Look for Dean Newbury's first comment... the pictures are in the replies.Thanks. Not seeing the set photos. Were those in Alec's now-deleted replies?
Indeed. Though I still maintain the opinion that the supporter fans are also of no interest to W&S outside of usefulness as it would directly pertain to their Case, their Client, and the Firm/Attorneys agenda of the chance to effect IP law, which the defendant mentions on the production website.Profile http://www.winston.com/en/who-we-are/attorneys/hughes-diana-l.html shows her to be a specialist in fair use and contention thereby in new media areas. They may be strengthening their bench either in hopes of forcing a better settlement or making sweeping discovery inquiries within which they could go fishing for things they can dispute. In for a penny...

I'm sure this continued W&S agenda must be heartening to Axanar. OTOH, W&S must hope the circus builds so they can get max PR out of any scrap of IP law they can dispute.

I don't see either of those parties aligning their behavior with the interests of fans other than Axalites, though. Everyone else is collateral.
Just saw this. Bollocks about haters
Okay, how is Mike Bawden a spokesperson for Axanar? He doesn't know anything. That whole discussion he was like "I don't know, I'll ask Alec," "I don't know, Alec hasn't gotten back to me yet," "I don't know, Alec doesn't tell me anything," "I told Alec he needs to do that, but he didn't."
Seriously, this guy needs to quit on principle or learn to lie effectively, especially if LOOOORDFIM is going to keep having hissy-fits and throwing him to the wolves that way.
Certainly anything he has is discoverable and I suspect that a conversation with the folks from Loeb has happened or soon will. But that only goes toward the causes of action in the lawsuit not toward any criminal activity.Well, if it gets out he has copies of actual Axanar principal e-mails. Loeb & Loeb could subpoena him for a deposition, and get a court order for him to turn over what he has. If that happens Terry won't be the one who picks and chooses what gets used from the e-mail archives he has. Again, I understood that (again assuming the Facebook post was genuine) he was meeting with his own attorney - but again, although not named as a defendant - he is a person who was a part of Axanar and he could be deposed by Loeb & Loeb directly regarding what he knows and any evidence he has.
Not actually true. The coffee was offered for sale to the general public through a website published by Hansa Coffee. The story behind the coffee, mostly in the Hansa guy's own words, is on AxaMonitor here.In the FB discussion thread cited just above, an Axalite claimed the coffee was donated-end-of-story to Axanar for sale in the donor store (implying it wasn't a formal business arrangement with Axanar). Any truth to this?

He did. You're right. I totally missed that.Ok, so here's a little observation. Alec offered Terry stock in Industry Studios. He didn't say "I can speak to them and see if I can offer you..." or "we discussed it and they are willing to offer you..." . Ergo, Alec is one of the principals of Industry Studios.
