Not really only "SUV's like this" as far as this problem. It could be any vehicle they put this shifter system into.

Unless you're anti-SUV for another reason, and that's OK too ;) For me it's 4x4 and the perfect size to drive year 'round, and an otherwise solid vehicle.
 
In poor taste to have a "let's laugh at the perils of redshirts" book featured in the same breath as the death of a young actor whose character (though briefly and lived through it) donned a red shirt in the last film.

I was so shocked to read about it, he now joins the 27 club, though, not in music, but, still.....I hope they add a memorial at the end of Beyond.

Stunned, just absolutely stunned. In memory, I watched ST09 on Monday and STID last night. I had not remembered the line where Kirk tells Checkov to put on a red shirt. When it happened, my heart fell through the bottom of my stomach.

Terrible.
 
Yeah, I know, rightI recall the moment in the Gorn video game where Spock sees a wounded Chekov lying on the ground just before your player helps him to his feet and says, "Mr. Chekov, you are injured." Chekov replies, "I vill be fine."

What sucks about the whole thing is that there's no good reason to have changed a proven design. What improvements did it offer over the way transmissions have been working for decades? My guess is that some engineer had to justify his salary so he made stupid changes that are causing injuries and now (in all likelihood) a fatality. Some heads need to roll over this. :mad:
