I would love to see novels set in the Kelvin universe. We don't know what the new series will be about, and with a new movie every 3-4 years there's a lot of space in-between to fill. I say bring it.
No we are not.Common sense. We are the customers, and if we don't receive a product we were promised, we are entitled to know why.

Amen to that. Anything that allows me to imagine Karl Urban growling his way through some dialogue is alright in my book.I would love to see novels set in the Kelvin universe. I wouldn't go so far as to say we are "entitled" to know why.
But it would just be good customer relations on the part of TPTB to at least give some little blurb explaining in basic terms why there can't be any Kelvin Timeline novels, to at least act like they care, instead of just calling the whole thing off without a word. In business, it's important to pretend to be nice to people.

Yeah, it could also be that while saying nothing will make some upset, giving the reason will make more upset, legitimately or not. Unless you'd also be happier with a fake reason than none at all?![]()
Oh sorry, I should have clarified; I was asking Kor, not you.
I think the reason was "several grown adults got pissy over how the novels would be licensed/marketed and how the revenue would be shared and they decided to just scrap the whole thing."
Hard to polish that one up for PR purposes.
That universe is not my "Star Trek".
