Other than that - yeah.

Fine. I shall expand on the scenario for the pedantic among us.No, the worst case is they skip C&D and go directly to lawsuit because they already stated in plain english what not to do, and while they never said they would sue if you didn't comply, they only said they wouldn't sue if you did comply, leaving them both options if you don't. There is no guarantee you won't get sued. There is no guarantee you'll get a warning first, and you won't know what will happen before you do something you shouldn't do. Why should anybody with sense take that kind of risk, especially after the last guy stupid enough to do it just got made an example? Why is it asinine? Worst case, they issue a cease and desist, and the outfit who is finding the new boundaries says OK, no problem, and it goes away. There is no problem in hoping for the best, or looking for legal loopholes.

What can be done?
If the rules aren't retroactive, that means we can have one last 15 (or 2-part 30 minute) farewell episode of Star Trek New Voyages and/or Star Trek Continues. I remember James Cawley once saying he wanted to end his series one day with the Enterprise coming back from her 5-year mission, into dock for her TMP refit. Now's the time, @jamesmc.
Man, I'm already working on Rocky Jones Space Ranger: The Next Generation.
Huh. I find both of those scenarios creatively interesting. Continues' viewership already has a sizable jump start from Star Trek Continues.....I dont know if they can do something crazy, by making a mini when the ship falls into a black hole and that is the ending of Star Trek Continues, but the following week a new series starts, one devoid of Star Trek IP, it starts with a ship coming out of a black hole, with no idea who they are, and no idea everything around them has changed, officially its the story of a crew exploring a new universe with no idea who they are, becoming new people based on their new experiences, its just got the same cast as Continues had, and if some conspiracy nuts wanted to whisper it, this new series is actually a sequel to Continues.
The other crazy option, is that the Stark Trek Continues was never actually Star Trek, they just found themselves in the Trek universe for some reason knowing they had to play those roles, and now they are returned to their universe, they can be themselves again.
got be honest that post was a bit of a random musing on my part, I was not expecting anyone to really like it.Huh. I find both of those scenarios creatively interesting. Continues' viewership already has a sizable jump start from Star Trek Continues.....
hmm... That is rather interesting isn't it. And again I'm reminded that Mr. van Citters made a specific point to say the guide line list is in no way rule or law to them or for us. But instead that making a fan film within that listed guide line is an assurance from them that a production choosing to produce within them will not ever cause any kind of alarm or issue to the proprietors of Star Trek. Mr. van Citters is even on record in that interview saying that the productions who do choose to produce within their Official Guidelines framework are going to start being allowed access to Official events & conventions to display, promote, & fund raise there for their productions. Which has never before been allowed.pros are people and fans too, right?!
Tobias Richter has done some images that were used in ads for Star Trek videos, therefore his work can't be used any more and NV-ASTFF needs to find a new artist for their space shots.
hmm... That is rather interesting isn't it.
