Newsweek picks the top 10 captain candidates

I'd know if I'd really put being overweight and being bald in the same category.

Just hire the best actors available for the jobs and get on with it regardless of who they are, what they are, or how they look.

Likely a financial impossibility, and if the idea is to have a diverse cast (which some of us want) your idea is the wrong way of achieving that.

If Angela Bassett is the captain, I'm not watching.
Very mature of you.

I'd love to see Gina Torres as captain. After seeing her on Fuller's Pushing Daisies and Hannibal (playing the on-screen wife of her real-life husband, Laurence Fishburne), I get the impression that they seem to enjoy working with each other.

Knowing his penchant for bringing actors/actresses from his past shows to his newer projects, Torres would be a very suitable candidate.

Another name to throw out there is Gillian Anderson. She'd be good casting in any role.

How about you take you PC zombieness and keep it to yourself, hmm?
I don't think you know what PC means.

"Hurr durr, he doesn't hate on the idea of an Oscar-winning actress getting a role long before even seeing her in it! What a PC loser!"

Go away.

I'd like to see a 23rd Century "Archie Bunker" type as Captain, just to piss everyone off.
It would be interesting to have a Captain who didn't feel the necessity to mince words and speak through a "PC" filter.
