Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Judging from the image, about a dozen at most.

Plus, the warp drive is right under the transporter, so the power would be going directly to it. Not sure how good an idea that is.

be like putting the crew quarters on a naval ship next to the engine room.

Naval ships don't produce massive amounts of exotic energy and particles, or explode with the force of small stars, or couple two systems with more power output than our entire planet right now.

Not sure how that really address anything.

Please forgive my ignorance if this has been continuously discussed but....

Where is the marketing campaign for BEYOND? I know about a few poster releases and I've seen the trailers, but I'm not seeing a major effort by the studio to push this film. I'm worried because from what I'm gathering, this has the potential to be my favorite Trek film in quite awhile.

What else are you looking for?

More advertisements on TV (granted I only watch a few channels) but more online buzz off this site.

Compared with previous summer flicks I recall -- even ST09 or ID --STB doesn't seem to be as well known at this point. I hope I'm wrong but there doesn't seem to be the same level of marketing power for it yet.

Rumor on twitter Paramount considering pushing Beyond's release to November due to Anton Yelchin's passing. The cast likely won't be up for heavy publicity that was planned over the next several weeks which is why the delay is being considered.

I've seen trailers at every film I've been to and commercials on the major event TV shows I've watched. There seems to be an online presence as well. The Omaze contests and such. Seems no different than other films. The closer it gets to the premier, I expect the cast to make the talk show rounds: Colbert, Kimmel, Fallon and in the UK, Norton for the leads. The secondary actors might show up on Cordon and Myers.

There is a show biz saying "The show must go on."

I'd be massively surprised if the film gets bumped due to Yelchin's passing. All the advertizing out the window for six months so that the cast feels happier?

I was so sad to hear about Yelchin's dying. :weep: That is way to young to die and in such a way as well. I really feel for his family and cast members. I noticed in a few of the articles I read that there were comments from almost all but Pine. Of course at the fan event he said most of his scenes were with Anton so I can imagine he's pretty upset. They seemed like a pretty tight knit cast.

Saying that, I would be a little sad if they push the release back, but some how I am doubtful they will. Though it would be completely understandable for his cast members.

Very sad news. I sometimes wonder how these mega-franchises deal with the risk of one of their stars dying. I guess now we'll find out.

I agree the release won't be pushed back by six months. The hit to the marketing budget would be massive, and do the film no favours. For the sake of Yelchin's legacy it's best to make this film as successful as possible, which means sticking to the schedule.

What do you mean? Since May 20th [this has been the most highly promoted Star Trek film we've ever seen. Hardly a day goes by without some sort of new promo or news. It's
the earliest we've ever seen tv commercials for a trek film. Aren't you looking at this thread??

Here's a good collection of Beyond information that I admin on.

I was so shocked when I heard about Anton Yelchin dying. He was only a year younger than I am. RIP.

I'm going to see this film more than any other Trek film. This film isn't just a film anymore. Its a dedication, not just to Nimoy but now for Anton. #foranton. #RIP.
Yes, I was thinking about this. Among the many ramifications of this tragedy, they will presumably be adding a dedication to the credits. My guess is Leonard and Anton will each get their own memorial credit. Hopefully the quality of the movie will be such that we feel good rather than sad.

I would be crying by the time Nimoy's dedication comes up on screen.

Now, I'll be crying everything I see Anton on screen.
