Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

A basic DIY kit for $300 while QMX did the last one (finished) for $60.

Let the fleecing begin :(
I'm curious as to what the materials where, as it sounds like Anovos is using nicer materials, at least from my brief read? I'm not an expert so I can be corrected.

Also, Anovos has never been known for being cheap.

I skipped through some of the pages so this might have been covered already, but did anybody else notice that they used a new transporter effect during HP commercial? It looked like it was closer to the classic TOS effect, than the swirly lines from ST09 and Beyond.

Indeed! I think what annoys me is that I know people who've been waiting more than a year after paying a hyped up price, and their orders are shoved to the back for new stuff.

Not *too* annoyed as I've made some coin making temp costumes on a stricer budget :p But the service is horrible - the fleecing of Trek fans over the years has really annoyed me, so hopefully QMX aren't shoved aside as their lower priced items are lovely.

Seeing what is essentially a PADD with an HP Machine logo on it is weirdly surreal.
Honestly if it hadn't been pointed as being HP, I probably wouldn't have even noticed that it was there. Actually as far as in-movie advertising goes I think it's okay compared to some of the more overt and immersion breaking examples out there.

The new effect shows up in the first trailer. Frankly, I kinda liked the "swirly lights" effect better.

^ The woman on the far right behind Uhura is wearing a tan colored uniform. I think that's the first time we've seen that in the altverse, right? Could be a nice callback to the TMP color scheme.

I think it's the sun hitting the uniform but if tan would be calk back to 1st few episodes of ST before NBC asked them for brighter unis to sell more color tvs

Im STOKED that we actually have people off a ship wearing the correct dury uniforms just like TOS n most ST shows!

Sulu's on the left being lit from the same angle and his uniform is noticeably gold in color. The blues and reds stay consistent between McCoy the the two women in the back and Spock and Uhura respectively, so it's strange that there would be such a major difference between Sulu and this woman.

Could just be a bleached out uniform as suggested, but it seems odd that they'd let someone go onscreen with such a noticeably different color uniform for a shot with the main cast if it wasn't intentional.

Either way, no biggie, I just thought it was cool if they were introducing some new colors.

I think the color is more "The Cage"/"Where No Man..." than TMP. I don't think it is washed out. Also, notice that she is a full Commander in rank.
