Does Paramount no longer own Star Trek?

I looked at the book The Missing as well as a book that I bought as well as another book that I own, which is Before Dishonor, and found nothing but See BS (that's not being dirty because BS could stand for any number of things such as Broadcasting System or the initials of a cast member). I don't see the Paramount logo anywhere.

Yeah, it's owned by CBS and have done for years. Have you been living under a rock the last few years?

That would be hard to live under a rock literally; but as far as who owns Star Trek, I have been living in the dark for a long time. What happened to make the change? What can someone do to make certain phrases their signatures? It doesn't require pasting and copying, does it?

But I believe Paramount still owns the movie rights - CBS, only the television rights. Right?

I believe that's how it works now. I think some of the books do have both logos now if they have stuff from the movies and shows.
Well, technically it's Simon & Schuster who has the rights to publish novels, but they license them from CBS.

1. It's a turn of phrase as I'm sure you are aware, given some of what you've said and your questions, I'm curious to know where you have been the last decade.
2. There was this thing called a financial crash, it really fucked over the developed worlds economies and businesses changed, this was one of them.
3. It requires going into your settings and inserting said text.

I miss seeing the Paramount Logo. I always thought that looked pretty neat.

Away from Star Trek and mainly reading Green Lantern comics and Godzilla if possible. Please don't swear.

It is rather ironic that the network that turned ST down in favor of Lost in Space ended up owning ST.

As I gather it, Viacom bought Paramount and CBS, and was apparently itself bought by something called National Amusements, then combined Paramount and CBS, then separated them (but still keeping them under National Amusements ownership), with the existing Paramount Television going to CBS, eventually dropping the Paramount name, and then Paramount decided to get back into the television business.

Sounds like a plot worthy of a soap opera.

And yes, unlike Fountain Pen Network, this board is completely and utterly uncensored, allowing sexual, scatological, blasphemous, and even racist words, and for reasons I have yet to fathom, a certain popular ST novelist is rather fond of inserting a form of #6 of the classic "7 words you can never say on television" in her name.

If you're prompted to leave because of the profanity, then "Double Dumb-Ass on You!" But that doesn't mean we have to drop down into "Army Creole," using crude language for no good reason until it becomes completely meaningless.

Simon & Schuster is a subsidiary of CBS.

Viacom at one time owned both Paramount and CBS. Splits and reorganizations happened.

CBS ended up with the trademarks and copyrights for all Star Trek.

But now, CBS is the home of Star Trek TV. Simon & Schuster still publishes Star Trek literature. Paramount still makes Star Trek movies. Simple.

These days Les Moonves is giggling his ass off, and Sumner Redstone is the devil.

But no phallic rocks, 'cause Google doesn't like that... ;)
