The map in the titles of the GoT TV-show is supposedly projected on the inside on a sphere, so it might be a hollow earth scenario.

But probably not in the same area, where the Lindenbrock-expedition arrived.

Pretty sure the TV show people have said that's not the intent and that it was purely a stylistic choice on their part. Not intended as a true representation of that world's cosmology.

Anyway, it'd be pretty hard to justify a "hollow earth" type setting in a world that clearly does have both a day/night cycle and seasons (though the latter be fairly protracted across years rather than months.)

If you want a hollow Earth fantasy though, there's always Skartaris. ;)

Martin does have a "Thousand Worlds" universe set in our far future but denies any connections. As I recall he has said the Earth of ASoIaF is simply in an alternate reality with no links to our world.

Saw it recently. (a few months agon) I have to in all honestly say, I really enjoyed it. Much better than the prequels (which I have to admit, I liked as well) and almost as good as Empire Strikes Back! Bring on Episode VIII!

Just rewatched the film yesterday on blu-ray (first time I saw it since the movie theatre) and I'm still enjoying it immensely. It does move a bit fast in some places (like Rey traveling to Luke's retreat in what seems like mere seconds), but overall I find it to be my favorite Star Wars movie. Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren are awesome characters and I'm looking forward to seeing them again.

Hey those islands where they filmed Rey and Luke were lovely. But familiar.. Were they the same islands used in Prometheus? Looked like the same kind of countryside, either Ireland or Scotland

From what I remember (so I could be wrong), the Force Awakens island is Skellig Michael in Ireland and Prometheus was in the Isle of Skye in Scotland.

You there's something about that ended that only recently occurred to me: for all the cries of "it's just like A New Hope!" the ending to TFA is unlike any of the previous Star Wars films. ANH ended on celebration of victory, as did TPM & Jedi. AotC & RotS both ended with an ominous foreshadowing, though with RotS it was more of a direct, albeit retroactive foreshadowing.

The closest is probably Empire, but that was a sort of open-ended cliffhanger and sure enough when it picks up in RotJ it's something like a year later (though it feels like it should have been more like just a few months.) TFA's ending though seems to beg for a direct continuation in Episode VIII. Like they'll literally come right back to that scene. They've never done that before, there's always been a time jump of at least a year between movies.

There were aspects of "The Force Awakens" that I liked. I liked some of the action sequences. I certainly enjoyed the period between Finn and Rey's first meeting and the Falcon's arrival on Takodana. I really enjoyed the performances of Harrison Ford and John Boyega in this film. Otherwise, I was not impressed . . . not by a long shot. The main problem for me was that the movie reeked of unoriginality, with some healthy plot holes on the side.

He is simply a hologram of an ancient AI from before it was deemed necessary for droids to have their free will limited to keep them subservient. It had been hiding in the Falcon after jumping from host to host for centuries before infecting a Sith holocron or something. They'll defeat him by unlocking Threepeo's true potential and letting them battle it out on the Astral Force Realm. Also Rey is Poe's illegitimate child from when he was 9 and impregnated Leia.

How old was Leia if he was 9?

I think that a recent Star Wars Insider issue mentioned that Leia and Snoke have met before the events of the movie (although the details have yet to be documented).

I'm going to guesstimate in her early thirties. Poe was born shortly after the Battle of Endor (he's close in age to Kylo Ren), and Leia was about twenty-two or twenty-three in Return of the Jedi.
