The article lists four other movies he has made besides Dope, so he could not be called inexperienced.

I never said "inexperienced", I said "it's thin" and I'm not overly impressed with what I see. That does not mean I'm a downer, just saying, we've seen this before and for every James Gunn we can get a Josh Trank. Difference is Gunn had Feige to work with and Warners isn't impressing me in that same mentor role to date.

Not impressed with what you see? Well, you haven't seen any of Famuyiwa's movies, so I'm not sure that's relevant. Trank was a kid who had directed one previous movie. Famuyiwa has directed a bunch and has been working since the 1990s. The difference is obvious.

He's directed 6 things, one of which was a movie short in '96, his first thing listed. The other a TV movie. He's done all of 4 feature length films, 3 of which are RomComs....your "obvious difference" isn't that apparent nor is his resume that deep for someone working "since the 90's". It'd be a lot more obvious if he'd directed something every year or two for 20yrs straight but he hasn't.
I stand by my assertion that when placed into context his resume is thin. But, hey you like him, that's great. I'm not saying he'll be bad, I'm saying I'm not as impressed with 4 feature length films under your belt in 20yrs as you are.
Is that for JL, though?! He's supposed to only have a small role in that movie.
Why? Seriously ... why? Gordon has to be buff now? Is he going to be Batman's sidekick?
It might not be for a role. Maybe he's just a fitness nut.

With the beard, he looks less like Comissioner Gordon and more like Master Tenzin.
I'm just pointing out the obvious, which you seem determined to ignore. Trank had directed one movie (a found-footage one at that). Famuyiwa has directed five full-length movies. That's a big difference.
