Looks like a semi-close relative of the guy who plays Sheldon on Big Bang Theory.

Well, I'm one of five people that scan film there. Right now we're trying to make a dent in like 6,000 reels of 16mm. Eek!

One thing I scanned today, which is oddly contemporary to Star Trek is Chuck Braverman's 1968 short film An American Time Capsule, which first found fame when shown on the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. The version I scanned was slightly altered from the original to include Nixon's downfall. Usually the copies online are crappy. Hopefully my scan shows it off better. It's only 3:46 with leader. Have a watch.

Holy smoke, what an undertaking. As someone who edits a lot of video, I can't imagine how long that took Braverman. And it's a stylistic time capsule all its own, too.
I'm sorry, but I had to bust out laughing when the titles came up — "American Education Films, Inc. and American Social Health Association present ----- GONORRHEA.
Yeah, I wonder how much of that was editing and how much (if any) was just switching the artwork out on an animation stand based on a timing chart.
