CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

I read a few pages of one of those books. I'm surprised to hear it was professionally edited. It's dense with unnecessary detail and self-indulgent rhetorical flourishes. I thought: "It's been three paragraphs and this Romulan commander is still standing in the doorway?"

Nothing against the author. Just not my cup of tea. It did seem like it would scratch an itch for FASA fans.

Is it strange that I could see LFIM, Terry, RMB, this wanna-be author and nuDiana all doing this??

Sounded like nuDian...oooops, I mean Wonder Woman had a cold, or maybe an Axanarial-...no...oh, sorry, I meant Bronchial Infection.

I keep seeing mention of LFIM in, what I assume is, a reference to Alec. I'm sure it originated somewhere deep in the bowels of this thread, but I missed the original use. What does it mean?

... I have never heard of an author needing to have his work edited before going to a publisher for a contract. (I'll bet some publishers wish writers would have a first-edit before submitting their works.)....

Actually, I did this before I queried my published work, and I will do it again the next time I query. It eliminates one more reason why your work could be rejected by a publisher or agent, plus it's another set of eyes looking at it (although my editor doesn't go looking for continuity).

Fender was/is basically a fan fic writer looking to crowdfund professional editing for his work. So far as I am aware, he was not querying it. He would have been rejected anyway; the Star Trek IP doesn't take unsolicited MSS anymore unless they are in the context of the Strange New Worlds contest.

Pro editing is in the hundreds of dollars or so, depends on length and complexity of the piece. My editor friend gave me a deal but she and I also have known each other over a decade. I paid her early and also sent her a case of Oreos and a signed copy of my work. :)

Is nuDiana a nickname for the person who's currently doing the rounds of the casinos with Peters, or someone whose name is actually Diana?

Why do I get the feeling that THIS is what AP is like in person... The 1st Segment of this episode

Crysstal, with two S. Crysstal Hubbard. Actress, writer, director, producer.
How hard is it to get all those words that follow the commas to start following your name?

Two decades ago if someone were to tell me that they were an actor, writer, producer, and director I would think they must know Spielberg. Now, it seems like every Tomas, Ricardo and Hari are producer/directors.

I didn't think we were permitted to even refer to her on here for reasons I never fully understood? Something to do with partners of protagonists in this tale being off limits as there was no way of proving whether they were benefiting from it?

I don't do it just because it seems cheap and trashy to talk about someone's girlfriend unless they are actually involved in someway. There WAS a member who seems really REALLY obsessed with talking about her all the time. I believe they are gone now.

I only dropped her name because Wonder Woman was in that video I linked and she happened to be the only female member I think, of Lord Alec's inner circle lol

@RedForman a mention isn't a big deal to me. Personal attacks and speculation about their personal lives is what I was talking about. And the poster I was talking about often got a bit creepy.

Their personal lives are, to a certain extent, public knowledge. Remember them posting their group photo (right after the lawsuit was filed) all smiles in the sushi-bar.

Is it poor form to suggest that these days Old Diana now has to buy her own sushi?

Thought so.

Anyway, I'm sure that that sushi, like just about everything else was paid for out of Alecs own pocket as opposed to using Axanar donor funds for anything other than the production of the best Star Trek movie ever. I'm sure not a cent of donor money has ever gone towards furnishing Mr Peters lifestyle and whoever he shares that lifestyle with.

Am I in the clear now?

I just asked as a point of clarification about who was being referred to - I knew the name of the young woman who's currently hanging around with Peters, and wondered if this was a TrekBBS nickname.
