Per The Hollywood Reporter, both Amazon and Netflix passed on picking up the CBS drama.

I remember how big the ratings were when the show first premiered, but the declines over the season were just too much.

Homeland will be renewed for two more seasons after season 6. So it should run through as least 2018.
