I'd argue that was a bit of an over-reaction.
No. Walking bits of puss like him must have their own special place. I've had the misfortune of encountering one or two such individuals in my time. They are genuine pains-in-the-ass and I have no empathy whatsoever for them. They're only successful at being disruptive and getting peaple to dislike them. They're complete hypocrites and totally untrustworthy. They can be so nice to you if you're useful to them, but the instant you're not useful anymore they backstab you.

Indeed. The more people here overdo it the more they validate Alec's claims that those who oppose him are simply irrational haters. It undermines the case against him in the court of public opinion to go over the top like this.
And yet it means exactly zilch in the court that actually matters: the court of law. As far as the court of public opinion, its influence is directly proportional to the number of people that know or care about Axanar. (Spoiler Alert: It's not a lot)
At this rate we will get to 5,000 before the trial is completed.
I still hold this thing will never make it to trial. Unless he's got some secret stash of money out there, there's no way he can pay for the fees that he will be responsible for in discovery. And he has said that he won't use donor money for the lawsuit. Whether that's true or not, I'm not certain.

You are probably right. Renting out Ares/Valkyrie Studios/Warehouse/Parking Lot can't be bringing in that much, especially if he is already looking for a place to stash the Axanar constructed sets.
I've been a big fan of the Trek.fm podcast network and enjoy many of their shows. They also host the official Axanar podcast which, as you can guess, has been sparsely updated this year. Well, the new one is up with Burnett and Peters hosting. I plan to listen later but here's a link you can play in-browser for those interested.

For what it's worth, can't say I'm a fan of Peters, who is, among other things, reckless and who in his pursuit may have damaged a nifty community of fans. Hopefully if there has been damage then the new guidelines will improve things in the long run for other producers who I hold higher esteem. It's bugged me that this has hampered other projects. For those who invested in Axanar I'm glad something may have come from their commitment — even if on a gut level I feel Peters crossed many lines that have me completely disinterested in his project. Just ain't kosher.
