Tell my husband that.

Meoooowwwwww.

So, today is the first of many days of reckoning in the Axanar case. Should be a fun year.

If the past 5 months is any indication, I'm betting it will probably resemble something like this.........

Will they even last a year? At some point even a freebie lawyer is going to have enough of wasting their time and tell they need to settle
That's a good question. It's obvious that Peters is convinced he is in the right, but he could be reasoned with by his attorney if things get too dire. I don't think his attorney is all that reasonable though, she seems convinced she is on some sort of holy crusade on behalf of the fans.

I have seen nothing over the course of this entire mess that leads me to believe that AP is going to be reasonable about anything no matter what happens. The lawyer may have believed she was on some sort of crusade, but after the reaction her tweet got, she may have changed her mind.

The lawyers are in it for their reputation. If they win a small point like declaring Klingon a language and breaking that copyright, they'll boast and hang their hat on that accomplishment as Alec and his studio falls.

I find it interesting to interact with Axanar supporters in the various corners of the Internet. They seem to enjoy their safe spaces, free of anything that might clash with their worldview. They don't want to debate, and prefer to ban or drive away anyone that disagrees with Lord Garth. If they can't do that, they call you a "troll" or "hater."

Except asking at least one (probably more) Trek authors to write under a pen name to get around a contract means he knew he was wrong and wanted to hide it (and wanted them to hide it). If you're trying to hide that you are wrong, you don't believe you're right.
Bingo. Peters knows he's in the wrong, but he's trying to either skate out of this with the money and a studio or he's hoping the fans will ride to his rescue.

Sounds a lot like politics.
