LEGO Star Trek

My wife and I are a bit fan of Traveller's Tales LEGO series. We were just playing LEGO Dimensions the other day and enjoying the ways loads of pop culture properties were interacting, and it suddenly hit me what a waste it was to not have a LEGO Star Trek game. It would fit so well, beaming in and out people as you need them, having the different generations represented. And before you say: "No they already do Star Wars.", well, they already do DC *and* Marvel without a worry.

I'd love this so much. CBS should give them the license, it'd be huge.

I spent a good childhood building Star Trek Lego, so I definitely would have loved official tie in sets. Lego likes mass market appeal though, I'm not convinced a Trek line would attract the sales numbers Star Wars or Marvel does. Remember their main market is kids - that's why they aim for franchises with a big kids contingent in the fanbase. That's not Trek at the moment, unfortunately.

I wouldn't say Star Wars or Marvel are for kids. They're family properties like Star Trek. A good part of the parents who bring their kids to the movies either read comics as kids or saw Star Wars as kids (like Star Trek). I agree, Lego Star Trek probably won't do as good as Lego Star Wars or the Lego Marvel properties but the market is there.

Even though the Lego games seem to be made for kids, I love the pop culture references, and just the sheer fun. Try playing them with your grandkids as well!

I've been waiting patiently for Lego: Star Trek and Lego: Dr Who for ages! C'mon, CBS/Paramount and BBC, watcha waitin' for?:cool:

The question is, would Lego really be interested? It's not just a matter of Paramount/CBS "letting" Lego have the license. Lego has to want it in the first place!

I love the LEGO games and I've been dying for a Star Trek game since the series first started. It's pretty much my ultimate dream video game at this point.
They can't, as the license for Trek building brick toys is currently in the possession of KRE-O.
Actually it's MEGA-Bloks now, they are releasing their first sets later this year.

Dr. Who is part of LEGO Dimensions. I'm really hoping they do a stand alone game some day too. I don't really have to money to do Dimensions, so I would love a Dr. Who game where I wouldn't have to buy all the separate figures and vehicles.

I couldn't remember if Dr. Who was in Dimensions. Is that game tied into figures/portals, similar to the Skylanders game?

D'oh! That's what I get for lazy research.

/\ This.

Yep, same type of game. Disney also has a game like that called Disney Infinity.

^KRE-O did release a few sets back around the time Into Darkness came out, so you're not totally mistaken, you're just behind by a few years.
