In a way, I hope BillJ is correct, but there is another part of me...a primal part...a secret part...a part that wants Justice and Order in the Universe...where No Man Can Infringed...No Man May Appropriate...seeking out Egoist!...Ne'er do Wells...Miscreants!...Violators of the Cannon!...Disrespectors of the Dream!!...craving Payment for the Crime!!...yes!!...Punishment!!!...Retribution!!!...Fulfillment of the Premiums...Where is my God Damned Coffee!!!!!!!!???????

woah

sorry

I still think he pisses his pants and runs away sometime before this heads to trial. How far can $500 a weekend every couple months actually carry them?

Tellingly, he has had all sorts of money and staff and time to make a movie, and he has time and again avoided going ahead with making the movie. Instead, he keeps doing avoidance behaviors of getting even more resources, preparing it all even more, tearing down questioners, fantasizing about every potential 'even better' activity rather than actually just shooting scenes, defying and not hearing TPTB rather than finding a way through without getting to a crisis. So I kinda agree. If he actually finished the film, he'd have to face the assessment of it. Inability to follow through might repeat itself.

Just breathe with me -- Out, 2..3..4.., In, 2..3..4.., Out, 2..3..4.., In..2..3..4..

Frankly speaking, they lost me with the Treklanta awards when I saw that Peters simply HAD to have a note on there that Axanar had paid for the damn plaques. He literally had to stamp his name on the thing, when the award to begin with has nothing to do with Axanar.

Sure, he paid for the awards to be made, but it's hardly charitable on his part if he's going out of his way to take credit for it. At the very least it's a classless, tacky move. Typical Peters.

All things considered, it's not a big deal, I know, but it was a detail that put me off from the whole thing at the start.

Please note - none of this in any way applies to the films nominated or who won. I'm speaking simply about Peters and his insane need to constantly be acknowledged.

I understand what you are saying, Karzak, and it just continues to point to a personality that is showing signs of NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). It is a real syndrome with real indicators and symptoms.

It's that, or Transporter Psychosis or Dilithium Delerium or Plasma Fluid Parasites.

Swear to The Founders, this keeps getting more and more surreal.

Axanar should also take away a message loud and clear from raising 500 for a weekend convention, regardless how many ears could be made sympathetic by a skewed pitch: fans as a whole don't care that much. 500 is probably couple dozen people out of a whole con. And who knows, perhaps even less, and perhaps mainly people who had never heard of Axanar before and don't know the issues from anyone but Axanar's side. Axanar knows the truth, but regardless, the money shows little support.

Fans will care even less to have their 50th messed up in any way by having profit-taking copyright violators try to take up bandwidth during the once in a lifetime opportunity of the 50th.

For every supporter dollar raised there will be 100 fans pissed off to have mindspace and feelgood time taken up by Axanar diehards' ultimately false protests at the 50th. Because once people learn that the protests are concealing a venal underbelly, the hoodwinked listeners will be angry.

Unless Axanar folk want to be the target of real resentment at being a spoiler at the 50th, they better find a way to settle, or at least completely STFU as a strategic decision during the con's panels and the like.

True enough. Especially taking into account the seeming vulnerability to the slightest criticism.

Here's the thing to me though, that diagnosis' indicators are shared by many many non-syndrome non-maladaptive non-mentally ill go-get-'em personalities too.

So while I myself decry the actions taken in this, what I'm calling bs, production's actions, contradictions, directions by this producer concerning this production and in the previous and public props selling issue - and while I clearly see and remain unwavering in my decrial against the pointed damage and emotional threats against many very real people who are speaking up, I also feel it would be error on my part to excuse this producer's behavior with a mere but extreme pathalogical disorder which also has so many shared indicators with non-mental illness.

In the end your speculations of pathology and which many indicators can be martialed to point to, may very well be turn out to be fact. (the original fictional Garth Of Izar irony is not lost on me) The thing is, for me, it would take an intimate and ongoing personal knowledge of the whole personality of this person by someone trained to do so supporting this before I will feel confident in joining this simplicity of mental illness caused behavior.

Right now I lean toward all this being a non-mentally ill person freely making wrong choices in so many places - and the consequences of these choices.

Or -- this does look pretty interesting too:
or Transporter Psychosis or Dilithium Delerium or Plasma Fluid Parasites.

Jumping back to the Does, dunno if anyone mentioned this before, but back on April 3rd—the day after his most recent post here,—Titan Designer Sean P. Tourangeau claims he's been "blacklisted" for working on Axanar (link). I assume he means he can't get hired to do Trek stuff. If so, unsurprising... no licensee is gonna risk hiring someone who's potentially on the licensor's lawsuit's Doe list.

EDIT: Whoops. I see HMS Ark Royal beat me to the punch!

And the deep and conflicting emotions this fine artist must be experiencing as he comes to this public announcement. My empathy for this young man just took a jolt into high gear.

I have no sympathy at all. He was a grown man and made one Hell of a bad choice. He should have known better.
