Has anybody seen Tom around to ask him about Peters and Renegades?
They asked him to say a few words before the fan film awards. I bet he gave a nice long speech about how to get your ass sued by CBS and Paramount. If not, than fan film makers should probably just do the opposite of any advice he gave.

This. Alec probably thinks he is like the leader of Napster and even if Axanar is totally disassembled, he will reemerge and be wealthy from it. Problem is, Axanar is more like some fan musicians doing a cover, and simply saying they have this great idea for a Napster. They haven't actually built their alternative streaming network. They don't have the skills to build it or staff already assembled to do it. There's no great business value they have built which can survive the takedown, other than the donors, and that doesn't have a repeatable shelf life.
And studios just aren't going to let 'independent [your IP]' productions raise millions and do as they please with new technologies. They just aren't.
Pay our expenses to attend. Sweet.
Another morsel for discovery and eventually, for donors.
Probably everclear sangria.
And above they are quoted as having 'paid for the plaques' or some such for these fan awards. What is Axanar doing paying for such a thing? Or was it a personal gift?

There is no script, remember? Or else it's locked, I forget which. How can they read it if it's locked?

I came across that a few weeks ago when I was looking into Axanar's backpedaling its IMDb status from 'preproduction' to 'in development.' This other production doesn't appear to be affiliated with Axanar; it's just a one-off that numbers Peters and other fan film people among its cast.
