What does everyone think ofthis Botany Bay design?

Looks like the same design as the original, just with more detail.

I like the idea of fleshing out a more realistic NASA design. Could be something to pursue, but need to keep the overall shape and proportions the same.

It's all right. I prefer the original one...

The thing is that the TOS version suggests weird technology that would lead to what we see on the show. Where this one is trying to make sense of it in actual 1990's terms. So I give it a solid Meh. Though, I think it would be pretty cool as an easter egg in a more grounded Sci-fi show.

I think it's pretty cool, would make a great basis for a tech manual, something along the lines of the old Mars One Crew Manual.

I like it a lot. I love the idea of modular pods wrapping around the center -- suggesting, to me at least, that it should spin in order to simulate gravity. And I have to admit to liking the additional detail. Not only does it ground the design in the supposed era from which it came, it helps to minimize the impression that the Botany Bay is more than just a submarine model kitbash.

This. I think its cool looking in its own right, but like the above poster, I like the original because it points more towards the "what if" future in trek, instead of trying to shoehorn itself into our current future trajectory, and yes, this would be a cool easter egg ship for a show like "The Expanse"
