MAYBE WE'LL GET A BIRDS OF PREY SHOW!
I know, but it's fun to dream. Even just this team would be good.A Birds of Prey show with no Oracle or Huntress? They could put Felicity in the Oracle roll, but I don't even want to think about that possibilityThere is no way the Berlantiverse Huntress is redeemable (which sucks, I wish they hadn't gone full psycho with her). Honestly, thinking about the Birds of Prey comic cast, they'd have Black Canary (who is pretty lame compared to the comic version, but whatever), and they might be able to use Lady Blackhawk (although she wouldn't have the same backstory), and Misfit. They could use Vixen I guess, since she's already in the universe, even though the comic version had no connection to the BoP. They could also put random B-C list DC superheroines on the team that the movies probably won't be using, like Nightshade, Fire, Ice or even the female Hawk/Dove pairing. Still, I really can't see them doing it.
I don't really understand why they made this particular decision, but I don't buy the notion that they went into the season not having already made it, and can't really bring myself to condone blaming them for doing it for "petty" reasons.
Thats funny, because I'm hoping that the Earth 2 "Black Siren" from the upcoming Flash, (even if beginning as a villain / darker character), can follow the pre crisis route of Earth 2 Canary becoming a hero on Earth 1, and having a romance with Oliver Queen. She could go by her first name, Dinah, and be a more comics proper version of the Black Canary.
Here's an interview with the cast and show-runner about tonight's episode. Lot's of answers about you know who.

Plus GA has a history of having a female sidekick in the comics, plus the tradition of a sidekick with a former drug problem (if Roy Harper in the comics.)
Read that interview and... ugh. Not helpful. Still stupid. It wouldn't even be so bad, maybe, if not for the whole "Darhk could have killed everyone but for some reason just Laurel." And going about about the shippers and their point of view... as if that's really what will upset people about it. Maybe we can get Sara back on the show and have her be Black Canary (using Laurel's costume instead of her old Canary costume, and not the wig). Maybe?

I don't get all the doom saying. I'm enjoying the show this year more than ever.![]()
As it happens, the name "Black Siren" was originally used in the Justice League episode "Legends," where they couldn't get the rights to use the Justice Society, so they created a surrogate Golden Age/alternate-universe team called the Justice Guild. Black Siren's real name was Donna Nance. I'm wondering if the Earth-2 Black Siren in The Flash will use that name.
If they wanted to go really Old School they should call her Dinah Drake. It'll probably be a combination of both, then - Black Siren as a shout out to what was meant to be the Golden Age Black Canary, but Dinah Lance as the proper name they wished they could have used to begin with. I am really hoping. They could course correct *everything* this way.
Can you imagine how Sara would react? That would be a fun fight, especially if Black Siren is as badass as I'm hoping. This is such a great opportunity to finally do a comics accurate version of the Black Canary in live action.
Wait....you all think she's really dead? Didn't you see Ollie and Laurel start to talk and then they switched scene to watching them talk from outside the hospital window? That's when they come up with faking her death.
This article does make it seem rather final.Yeah.
Not. Dead.
I had no idea she was related to David Cassidy. One of the funnier rumors that I heard was that Katie was fired because she annoyed the other actors by constantly blasting Partridge family songs (her daddy is David Cassidy.)
