Greetings and salutations. I'll get right to the point. My dear friend, Jordan, has been volunteering at an animal shelter called CARE (Castaway Animal Rescue Effort) for little over a year now. CARE is a no-kill animal rescue shelter which specializes in helping those animals, which, without their intervention, would have no other chance. Jordan has happily given countless hours of his time to help better the lives of these rescue animals. It is his intent to begin donating more to the shelter; as it is growing and requires money to maintain its animals. However, the one thing preventing him from donating more resources to these animals is his college debt. He is trying to pay off his student loans before the year is up. Jordan's goal is to raise $30,000, half of which will go directly to CARE and benefit the shelter. As a thank you for your donations, Jordan has written a short story that delves into the dynamics of animal abandonment and how it affects them and others. I have attached the link to the GoFundMe page here: (link deleted)
Any donation is appreciated and welcomed. Thank you for taking time to read this and I hope everyone can donate. Live long and prosper.

While this is indeed a very worthy cause, soliciting funds is generally not permitted on the BBS.

Dang, really? I tried looking through the rules and what not to avoid this, I can surely bring it down if you want. I just don't know anywhere else to try and get traction on it, you know? But if I should take this down, just let me know

My sincerest condolences. I hope that you are able to carry on the work that he was involved in. I'm sure he would be proud.

OH GOODNESS that was my mistake, that should be DEAR FRIEND. I am terribly sorry about that. My phone likes to auto correct, so sorry about that.

I think I speak for most of us when saying that we'd rather make donations to the pet asylum directly as in this case 100% of the donations would go to the pet shelter, rather than crowd funding your friend's students loan with half of our donations, regardless of how altruistic his and your motives might be.
