And a slightly more 'glass half-full' analysis of the box office situation:

No, I said the gross would hit $600 million by the end of friday and $650 by the end of the weekend. It sits at $683 million now.
You do realize that foreign earnings aren't reported as regularly as domestic, right? The worldwide cume is likely already above 690 mil.

Relatively speaking is this better than a Superman Returns situation?

We made X million but were figuring on 1.5X million?

There's too much structure for the foundation of what they want to do in the future in BvS - no way they jettison their plans.

In regards to the money the movie makes and the people who think they know more than they actually do pertaining to that....

All that matters is if it makes enough money to carry on the DC comics universe.

It will. :)

C-

There was a story somewhere in there. Needed a couple more rewrites. The directing was terrible. I like the cast, except for Lex who was fucking awful... but there's not much that can be done with bad writing and direction. This movie is what happens when 'The Phantom Menace' goes bad...

One thing that kind of slipped my mind lately... going into the movie, I was kind of expecting/hoping that some of Zod's personality would still exist in the monster. But it didn't. Oh, well.

Kor
But was Doomsday actually Zod? I took it to be that he was made based on his genetic material but that it was a new creature, not a mutated reanimated Zod corpse. Or did I miss something?

Another thing I noticed, not that this would have impacted on the BO (at least I hope something like that wouldn't), no Clark Kent shirt rip :-(.

At one point when watching the situation in Mexico (was it Mexico or somewhere else) he did do the move my tie to get changed move.

Hi Dimesdan
Yeah I noticed that to. It would have been nice if we'd intercut at that point between Bruce Wayne's attempt to track down Diana Prince at Lex's party and Clark changing to Superman on his way to Mexico (and yes you're quite correct, it was Mexico, in fact it was the same Day of the Dead festival that featured in the pre-title sequence of SPECTRE. Hey you don't think the fire in that building was the result of a British Intelligence officer accidentally setting off a terrorist bomb intended to blow up a stadium, do you?). There was also a nod to the shirt rip in Man of Steel when Jor-El shows Clark his s-shield and explains that it stands for 'hope'.

The whole Jimmy Olsen thing kind of confuses me, I thought the dark haired girl Jenny, at the Daily Planet was supposed to be the DCEU version of Jimmy Olsen? Or was that just a pre-MOS rumor?
EDIT: The Snyders, Charles Roven, and Henry Cavill all told IGN that another standalone Superman movie is a possibility. I think most people would probably only want that if someone other than Snyder was directing. I liked MOS and BvS, but even I would rather see someone else direct any future Superman movies.

^ It was a misunderstanding. A few people thought she was "Jenny Olsen" but that was cleared up when Man of Steel came out.
