Snyder's dropped virtually everything else about Superman, his hope and optimism, his humanity, his morality, his inspirational presence, his caring nature, his need to save as many people as he can and not put anyone at risk or in danger, him having inspiration and hope from his human parents (Maybe next time let the bus fill of kids drown, Clark), his need to be part of something bigger being something that always drove him into becoming the hero we all need and deserve (Eh. after high school I think I'll wander around the world until I'm in my mid-30s), letting little stand in his way of always being his very best (If Lois dies, I'm totally taking over the world!) so I don't see how dropping the Clark Kent thing would be any different.

I'm going with a 90% chance of the "reborn" Superman having some kind of new powers beyond those he ever really had in the comics aside from silly Silver Age stuff induced by a plot contrivance or a new color of kryptonite (Red-K: It does whatever silly thing we need it to do; just this once!) I'm guessing some kind of psionic or telekentic powers, maybe something like the various "other" versions of Superman we got after "The Death of Superman" in comics, maybe some Superboy-style powers.

I mean, how much fun will Superman be when he's even more unlike Superman than he already is?!
You and I watched different movies.

Here's the problem with gross and net.

There's a fuck ton of people they don't actually have to start paying off, until the movie is in the black. Lets assume that that's thousands of contractual expenses which add up to (hypothetically) 22 cents on the dollar, for every dollar they make after 800 million that they didn't have to pay before they made $800.

This isn't good or bad, it's just the cost of doing business, and perhaps why sometimes a massive budget full of imaginary inflated costs and fees are good for a picture like paying the sandwich guy 40 dollars an hour, who is not so actually a person more so than a presumptuous table.

Terry the Table.

Your just making up your own reality, Superman still clearly cares a lot but this ain't the 1970's or 80's, Superman needs to be more than a goody two shoes cleaner than clean superhero without going as far OTT as Batman and so far Snyder has walked the line for the most part well, comic book fans just want to see the same old superman all the time well how did that work out in Returns ? it flopped that's what happened.

As for putting other people in danger he doesn't, but when you have crazed demi like gods fighting him Zod/Doomsday things get blown up, having it clean is just stupid but Superman never put anyone in danger on purpose he was simply outmatched at times and was unable to control how the fight was going leading to a lot of collateral damage. Also remember this Superman is still early in his role and simply not experienced enough, especially in the fight against Zod, which btw had the terra forming device to blame for most of the damage.

The Snyder/Cavill version of Superman is dull. His persona alternates between stoic, annoyed, bored, mopey and smug. He's also witless.

As an actor, Cavill is a stiff, and that's how he portrays Superman. He's boring and lacks the likable on-screen charisma of his contemporaries.

One thing that kind of slipped my mind lately... going into the movie, I was kind of expecting/hoping that some of Zod's personality would still exist in the monster. But it didn't. Oh, well.

I don't believe the $925 million quite for a second especially with Hollywood accounting. Also WB will make money from more than just the box office, A movie like this must sell a decent amount of merchandise and Blu Ray/DVD sales will be good due to the crowd its aimed at and fan reaction has been far higher than the so called Critics. Not too mention selling the rights for networks and Netflix or Amazon Instant to stream the movie down the line.

WB will make $$$
