Uniforms in the new series

Forget the utopian "vision" of Trek. Let's see some Starfleet black ops units. Anybody want to speculate on what the uniforms would look like?

Maybe something akin to the wetsuits in STID but solid black, possibly with some camouflage effect.

Same as any other uniform. I doubt you'd want to advertise "Hey We're The Black Ops Team!!!!"

I too would like to see more as well. Though, I think there can be different colors or variations as well.

Also, a consideration is ranking. I personally don't care for the pips, though it is a fairly simple system. Thought?

It's too TNG. I would prefer something different as well. I wouldn't mind if there was a color ranking decor which would identify an officer's designation.

Modern captains have four stripe on the cuffs of their sleeves. Maybe we could have officer rank stripes on the top of the shoulders?

Something tasteful, discrete and subtle would be nice.

It's too TNG. I would prefer something different as well. I wouldn't mind if there was a color ranking decor which would identify an officer's designation.

I personally prefer TOS rank stripes, in some form. I find them to be simple enough to read, and depending on the design, can be subtle or highly visible, and placed on the uniform in a variety of places. They could be on the sleeve, either low or high, on the shoulder or use shoulder boards.

See, I don't have a problem with the above example as it could be used in an away team/landing party scenario where visibility may be necessary for quick identification.
Also, as a quick note, I don't think that is a rank on that jacket, as Chekov's has the same pattern.

Don't see any reason Chekov can't be a captain too. Maybe all the principal characters hold captain's rank in the next movie.
