Miranda->Nebula->??

TWOK introduced the Miranda as an smaller mirror of the Enterprise. In TNG they evolved the Enterprise to the Galaxy class and introduced an updated "Miranda-style" ship with the Nebula-class. In First Contact we got the Enterprise-E... and I know I've seen pictures of a "Miranda-style" mirror to that design, but for the life of me I cannot remember the name or where I saw it. Probably SFMeshes or similar. Anyone know the name of the updated design and/or where I could find images?

No. The Miranda was a kitbash of the refit Enterprise model. The Nebula was a kitbash of the Galaxy-class Enterprise model. And I know I've seen a kitbash of the Ent-E model in that same vein. Not the Titan / Luna-class. I'm like 1000% sure it's not official. It had the Ent-E saucer section with the nacelles pushed up against the underside, just like the Miranda and Nebula. Sorry. I can't find it without the name and I can't find the name till I find the pictures... ugh. And not the STO Nebula/Miranda updated one.

I love the Ronin class. The mega-phasers, the massive shuttlebays on the primary hull.

I always liked the Miranda. It doesn't have much to do with the Nebula though. Miranda's were made in a time of war (designed for upgradablity from the looks of things) and were sent to fight Dominion ships in DS9. Nebula's were science vessels.

But Gul Macet said there was a dangerous man with an huge arsenal loose in Cardassian space when referring to Maxwell and the Phoenix from "The Wounded".

Just because ot is a science vessel dosen't mean it can't have lots of weapons.
Just watch VOY: "Equinox" and look at the huge weapons arsenal the Captain (Ransom) had on the Nova class USS Equinox.
Also watch "Endgame" and look at the Nova Class Science Vessel Rhode Island. It can take on and destroy a Klingon dreadnaught. See my point?

Now go and actually look at the Nebula class. A ship that is roughly the same size as the Galaxy class. It would be a waste of resources to build a science vessel that big. The Nebula likely served the same role as the Galaxy, Ambassador and Excelsior. Multi-mission explorer. Maybe the Nova class being more heavily armed was a lesson learned from the Oberth (USS Grissom) class?

Just interesting that the same two of us are discussing the Oberth class in two different threads; one of which is not even focused on the Oberth class, Starfleet Science Vessels, or any Oberth class vessels.

Well, @BillJ, a Cardassian warship lost its shields after 3 shots from a Galaxy class Warship. Galaxy's have many of the same systems as Nebula's. And Photon Torpedoes are more powerful tham phasers (said in FASA roleplaying Star Trek rules) and I think a spread of Photons is more (or at least) four.
That would do some damage to the hull (and likely destroy such any Starship).

I think it is safe to say that the Nebula class isn't a group of science vessels. Even with the Phoenix prefix code, the Cardassian warship didn't stand a chance. I'm starting to wonder if Maxwell could've taken out a good portion of the Cardassian military on his own.
