CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar

From E&Y's Wiki:
Peter's award was for the southeast US, Georgia, Tennessee, and the Carolinas.

And not saying that he's a giant liar *cough* but the only reference that I can find that he did win that award are from Peter's own sad menagerie of failed business websites.

I have to say I am just a bit disappointed by this info. Alec goes on and on about he was [no qualifier] E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year winner (implying he was "the" winner).

It looks just like how he referred to himself as [no qualifier] Star Trek Archivist for CBS. To the best I can determine as documented upstream this thread, he was [one among several] ST Archivists, in the sense he was taking care of assets from the Experience. He kept implying he was "the" ST Archivist, but never really came out and claimed it directly that I could see, and allowed the press to take that interpretation without correcting them. Maybe he was, and I am wrong, but the info doesn't match up for me. Of course he would say the title is the title, but clearly as I indicated upstream, CBS had a fulltime archivist job, and more or less 'honorary' archivist roles they gave to others who were doing some work in support of "the" archivist. Its not the end of anything to be unclear but when I read sites give him the credit one should accord to being 'the' archivist, I wonder what is going on.

So this E&Y award is that he was [one of a group of regional] Entrepreneur(s) of the Year. ok...

And "PropWorx bought a home for a homeless family" (apparent asterick: to live in rent free, not own)

And if you ever ask for this, or any other asterick to be made clear, or stovokor forbid, a PATTERN of astericks to be clarified, you are banned.

From the Axanese dictionary: Garth: Asterick (deriv: Terra/English: punctuation; clarification: not historical being from Terra/Gaul).

Hear hear. All this wild speculation has no place here. If we're going to damn him, let's damn him for what he's done re Axanar and his business practices. Beyond that is unseemly and unsavory.

Agreed. That's why when I hear talk about Peters ranking in law school I can't help but roll my eyes. Not only does it feed the narrative that one side is "stalking" him, it sort of proves that one side IS stalking him.

I live right down the street from where Peter's graduated from law school. Anyone think I can waltz in and see where he ranked? I'm guessing near the bottom, but UNC doesn't publicly release said rankings.

Yes, academic records are pretty tightly restricted these days. Going around asking would be a bit like asking a doctor for a patient's medical record -- you need permission from the person. As such, and just on general principles of not inviting stalking accusations, I suggest not doing this.

Just outright lie... Alec did it after all!

I am open to being corrected. As far as I see and know, Federal law in the USA prohibits academic institutions from revealing your GPA or transcript without your permission. If you apply for a job, you give signed permission for background checks. But someone just walking in off the street couldn't to my knowledge get any info about you.

Do I misunderstand? I am not really following the part about "Alec did it".

Edit: oh, I think I see another interpretation: you might be suggesting the person just lie about having permission. Well, its a Federal law, and while I don't know for sure, this sort of impersonation generally draws somewhat high penalties. Aside from which, that would probably also be called stalking by most courts. And, *no* :-)

Re-edit: I think I see that this suggestion is satirical. :-) forgive me, long work week (earning money, not spent cleansing social media :-) )

Even if he was a straight-A student, it is pretty much irrelevant to being a bad actor (in all its meanings).

It is interesting that no one identifying themselves as Axanar had a word to say on the Trekmovie Axanar thread this week, not one. Makes me think they must have some sort of high stakes compromise proposal on the table with the studios, and if so, the attorneys may have made it clear they have to be silent, as in stfu(!!!), in highly visible places.

I suspect that not only are the attorneys making it clear that they really need to zip it, but their PR representative has been trying to get their talking under control as well. On top of that, I wouldn't be surprised if the seriousness of the situation really hit them with that amended complaint. It is interesting, though. Verrry interesting.

My point, to be explicit, is that NO one's PERSONAL life is 'fair game' regardless whether they are part of the lawsuit or even look like a 'willing accomplice'. Perhaps 'fair game' for examining what they have represented about Axanar goals or operations, but NOT for what they say (or what anyone says about them) about their personal relationships, or even more, what one might like to infer and speculate about their personal relationships.

Axanar business ops and Axanar personnel personal lives just gotta be separated and this boundary respected.
Well said, I agree.

I bet he didn't just steal CBS's IP, he also wears Underroos.
Did someone say underoos?

This and this again. Alec Peters has done enough to discuss. I don't know why there's an obsession about digging up every little thing--seriously... his grades in school? WTF.

I agree with you, but to be fair, I don't think it's his grades that people are after. I think it's the knowledge of whether or not he actually attended law school in the first place like he says he did. Given his track record, it probably wouldn't surprise anyone if he attended some mock trial or something and decided that merited the term "law school."

Personally, I don't think it's worth the time; that's not something I think he's lied about, as it's far too easy to verify.

It's been verified. He is an inactive member of the Notth Carolina Bar. Now staaap already. He's a lawyer, he just can't practice law at the moment. He could if he got his continuing Ed credits up to date. He's also said he never practiced law. Can we put this debate to bed?
