Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

It's a concern I have, but not an insurmountable concern. Ragnarok could be the motivating factor. The enemy at the gates of Asgard, fire demons are about to be released from Muspelheim, the Odinsword is slowly drawing from its scabbard, and only Odin can stop them. Unfortunately, Odin isn't there and Thor has to find him. Cue an adventure across the Nine Realms with Hela secretly orchestrating everything and attempting to tempt Thor in order to get his soul.

The more I read about the next Thor movie, the more it seems like they're moving further away from the actual Ragnarok story.

Yeah, it kind of gives me pause to see them talking about how much humor it has and how it'll be like a Hope/Crosby road movie. It makes me want to ask, "Umm, you guys know Ragnarok is the Norse apocalypse, right?"

Maybe they should change the name to Thor: Ragnarok and Roll.

I was always in to the darker stories of Thor when it came to the comics. The Dark World was built up as a darker story and I was rather disappointed. With Marvel's stance on not going dark, I'm expecting a light-telling of the darkest period of Norse mythology.

I'm hoping they are just using titles to generate buzz and not give away the plot ahead of time.

Also, like The Winter Soldier, there is a character named Ragnarok, the Dark Thor from Dark Avengers. I realize that's probably not in the movie, but I doubt 90% of the public knows the word.

Ragnarok is the end of the world in Norse mythology. It shows up a lot in stories based on that mythos, so it's probably pretty well-known.

Perhaps the actual event of Ragnarok will be part of Avengers 3/4? And Thor Ragnarok will be more of setup for that?

I hope not. While I'm happy for them to change a lot of elements of the traditional Marvel Ragnarok (adapted from mythology), I hope they keep enough of it and it is too Thor-specific to involve the galactic stuff Infinity War is likely to include.

I thought I should add this here. It's a contiguous rock tribute to phase two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a hobby of mine. This is only part one (of two).

Apart from the movie references, keep an eye open for the Cybertech news paper in the background of the news office.

Also, the "Dogs of Hell" biker gang was introduced in the AoS episode with Lorelei. ("Yes Men"?).

For those afraid to click on the links, they both reference season one AoS stuff. One is an Easter Egg that doesn't affect the plot at all. The other is revealed early on and is also in the trailer.

^I'm not 100% sure, but I think that already showed up in season 1.

You're right, of course. That was minor stuff and probably didn't need spoiler codes at all, especially in a "spoiler-heavy" thread.

This one, however, might be considered a spoiler by some, and despite this being a spoiler safe thread, I'll have respect for those who haven't completely finished Daredevil S2 yet.

At the very end, Frank recovered a disk that he had hidden away with the name "Micro" on it, referring of course to Frank's long-time sidekick Microchip. In Agents of SHIELD S2, while investigating the alien writing, Skye mentioned one of her contacts, a "crime scene junkie" named "Micro".

Season one also had a connection to Skye/Daisy as she and Matt both grew up at the same orphanage. Given their ages, they were probably there at the same time.

I have no problem with putting it in spoiler code. I just wanted to give context so people knew whether to even click or not.

That being said, the last one is not a spoiler because it isn't true. People thought it was but they're misremembering. Skye went to St. Agnes Orphanage. Matt Murdock's orphanage is not named. Instead, they're remembering Foggy talking about getting a client's kid into St. Agnes School.

So, there's this rumour going around about a Captain Britain series, I doubt it, but I'd love to see it more as a show revolving around MI-13. Saying that, I'd imagine if Braddock were to crop up, a cameo in Doctor Strange would seem a more plausible way for him to appear in the MCU first.
