Anyone have the Sphero BB-8?
Anyone here own Sphero BB-8? While it's a fantastic toy, you might not know there's more you can do (of which I just learned). Download an app called Lightning Labs and it allows you to do a lot more with him, including changing his color, programming more moves, and sharing these programs with others.

Every time I see your avatar, I want to ask "Are you okay, man?"

I've been thinking about getting the Sphero BB-8, but to me the price is a little high for a toy. Maybe it'll go down in price this year, or maybe used ones will start hitting ebay.

hahaha ! I didn't think of that. It's just Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park (the second one) yawning! He's one of my favorite characters!
As for Sphero BB-8 .. it is so worth it to but him if you are in a thread like this.He is amazing and will make you smile like a kid. Especially when you watch him explore on his own

I used to have an Roboquad that did that. Basically a 4 leg spider like robot, but large. He would wander around on his own make noises and flash lights in his eyes. In one mode you set it and it would find its own way out of a room as it used infra red and ultrasonic sensors. Was about as big as a large RC car, ran off 4 C cells

Get yourself one of those boxes that are meant for screws and stuff. In some you even can change the size of the departments as the walls are loose. I have many of these and they help keeping little things stored very well:

a simple but smart solution. thanks, i'll look into it.

I have a Sphero BB-8. I love it. There's an app called Tickle that I use with it. I made a program that lets me control it by tilting my phone.

I wish that robot wasn't app controlled. It looked like lots of fun.

Once again you guys in the USA get all the good stuff. I have been looking for the Millennium Falcon quadcopter and it's pretty sweet but not sold here. Amazon won't ship it outside the USA. :(

Sphero has a wrist controller coming out for it. You'll be able to move it around with your hand using it.

The best option is letting it roll around by itself. It's amusing to see it figure out how to move around if it gets stuck somewhere.

Yeah how would that toy go for people that do not have an iphone, android or some kind of tablet.

There is a separate wrist controller coming out soon. But that will only allow you to move it around with arm movements. Really the phone is the brain of BB-8. It has sensors in it, but the app is what makes it work.

Aaaawww much disappointment ........

Still wish I could get that bloody drone. Have you seen the Air Hogs Millennium Falcon? It's pretty sweet.

Maybe they figure that if you don't have a smartphone or tablet, then you aren't part of the target demographic that is most likely to drop $150 on a little toy robot ball.

OH YEAH...........Now that's what I want a rolling locomotive of death.

As soon as I get my Megatron I might consider this as I missed out on the Transistor version of Blaster.

I'm also getting tempted to buy Apollyon (3P MP Megatron), which is presently sold out but which looks pretty nice from the video review. I've always been partial to G1 Megatron because that form is so distinctive, and better in some ways (IMO) than the more generic vehicles like the multiple tank versions of Megatron. That being said, the current CW figure based on the original G1 toy is pretty nice, and I also like the IDW bomber version and wish he'd kept that form a bit longer in the comics.

I have the Takara Tomy version which stays inside its box. It's nice and heavy too as it's metal on the body.

EDIT: I just checked on BBTS and that metal version of Blaster that I wanted which I posted the video of is available again. Might order it.

Still waiting for my order shipped on March 3.
