The Mighty Chewbacca - The Force Awakens (Spoilers)

In NuWars, all life is sentient - even Droids - so The Force becomes available to all

Are you saying that droids can be Force sensitive?

It was a tongue in cheek response, hence the winky face.

Have we ever seen that happen (EU or no)?

Apparently it had been done in the now de-canonized EU:

...but I didn't know that when I posted, The Force must have told me. :D

To get this back on track to being about Chewie

Who does the Falcon belong to...?

Han was the last official Captain of the ship which was then stolen and hidden on Jakku undercover. The official ownership did not change and I do not believe that Han ever signed it over to Alliance control. When he died, one could argue that his death would bump the First Mate, Chewie, to the Captain's position. He took the right hand seat when they escaped Starkiller Base and then went off for Luke, but it could be out of personal preference and that it would take time to adapt the left seat controls for use by a Wookie.

I think ownership of the Falcon is a bit of a nebulous concept considering even Han won it in a card game and there's no telling how Lando came across it in the first place. Knowing Lando, probably not though strictly legal means.
Add to that the likelihood that it was never officially registered (it was a smuggling ship after all) and probably ran under various false identities (or with whatever the spaceship equivalent of stolen plates might be.) There's also the likelihood that whatever agency dealt with these things in the Empire is probably long defunct. Basically it seems it's owned by whomever can keep hold of it.

As for the end of TFA, I think Chewie sitting in the co-pilot's chair sends a very clear message that he considers Rey his new partner. Which mean they both own it, though I doubt either would raise an objection if Leia wanted to make use of it.

Perhaps, but a cut scene from TFA makes a point of Chewie sitting in the left seat... I happen to know the new canon guy for the film's, so I'll ask him
