The European Football Season 15/16

I'm at work :sigh: Arsenal V Barcelona looks...

But I'll get to see to City tomorrow. They put out a weakened team in the FA cup last Sunday so they could concentrate on the CL and got battered by Chelsea . Let's see if it was worth it.

Who owns Champions League TV rights in Germany? In the UK it was free for years (on ITV) but starting this season, it's on BT Sport (which I have).

ZDF. But only wednesday matches, if I'm not mistaken. With Khaaaaaaan ehm Kaaaaaaaaaahn. Oliver Kahn.

Now it has come to that....

Juventus - Bayern currently 1:2

A spoiler function in a sports reply......

Just wanted to check it up

Edit: a draw in the end, meh

It's still a good result for Bayern.

Arsenal were very unlucky by all accounts. But yeah, they're out.

Nice win for City. How hilarious would it be if Pelegrini won the CL just before Guardiola took his job.

Round of 16 First Leg

Benfica 1 - 0 Zenit
Paris SG 2 - 1 Chelsea
Roma 0 - 2 Real Madrid
KAA Gent 2 - 3 Wolfsburg
Juventus 2 - 2 Bayern Munich
Arsenal 0 - 2 Barcelona
Dynamo Kiev 1 - 3 Man City
PSV Eindhoven 0 - 0 Athletico Madrid

League Cup Final

Liverpool 1 - 1 Man City

Man City win 3 - 1 on penalties

No first trophy for Klopp :(

Bundesliga, another match day: match of the day: Dortmund vs. Bayern.

@hux
it is now like it used to be: only the two of us

I don't know about the Premier League, but Bundesliga seems to be boring with Bayern taking the lead. And Kloppo is sorely missed.

Uli Hoeness was released from jail.... Potential for entertainment when he gets back on TV

Maybe if I said something politically incorrect, that would bring back certain people and spice the thread up for a while.

This has been one of the best Premier Leagues ever. The idea that a little club like Leicester who were only promoted two years ago, could win the league is ridiculous. This guy put £20 on Leicester winning the league at the start of the season at 500/1 and has been allowed to cash out (taking £29k). Personally, I think he's idiot. If Leicester win the league, he'd win £100k

Tottenham 2 - 2 Arsenal was a good game (and the ideal result for Leicester).

My prediction in any betting games are often far off.
German publisher of Star Trek novels Cross Cult has a betting game running. I'm currently ranking in the 6th place with no chance of advancing or falling back. Unfortunately I've missed some matchdays. That means: no chance of winning the title.

Something odd should happen... like Jens Lehmann peeing on the sidelines or Khan ehm Kahn freaking out. Oh wait, Rudi Voeller freaked out during an interview on TV recently - most entertaining. Trappatoni, Voeller, Zidane, Cantona, Ibrahimovic.......Bundesliga is boring at the moment.

Results went for Leicester on Saturday. Even when they stumbled and only drew Tuesday the results Wednesday didn't punish them. They've got a 5 point cushion at the moment and even when I keep expecting them to collapse they don't. I think it's going to be tight, especially since Spurs have a much better goal difference. Hopefully they won't get any injuries and Vardy must be due to hit another run of form. The combined mental power of thousands of fans willing them on must surely help!

It's weird but at the start of the season I guess most fans without an obvious stake in one of the usual suspects (Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool etc.) would have probably jumped at the idea of Spurs winning the league but now it would be a disappointment if Leicester don't do it (obviously less of a disappointment than if Man City make a late run.)

I've defended Wenger a lot, but if Arsenal were ever going to win this was surely the year and they're doing what they always do, collapsing when the going gets tough and that has to be down to the manager and his refusal to sign players to strengthen the obvious areas.

Yesterday Bayern defeated Bremen with 5:0.
Today: Dortmund vs Mainz 2:0. Result not really important, as a Dortmund fan succumbed to a heart attack during the match......:(

PSG win 0 - 9 away to Troyes!

And that's the French title done and dusted. 25 points ahead of second place Monaco. Mickey Mouse league.

Arsenal lose to Watford in the cup. Wenger must surely be on borrowed time.

Yeps, that wasn't very interesting this year. The team is still qualified to win the 2 national cups too.

I felt sorry for Troyes yesterday, that was a little indescent
Usually when something like that happens, they stop playing during the 2nd half.

The only thing really interesting left is the Champions League.

Champions League Day and no beer available.....

Ah, Gigi Buffon.......Lookin' forward to seeing him keeping his goal clean.

There is hope for an entertaining evening.
