We did discuss the matter again yesterday (my apologies if someone has already posted the YouTube link, and my thanks if they have)

About 1 hour in, or so. We also talked about the cosplay case coming around.

Thank you for listening and for your kind support. We appreciate you taking the time to hear us talk (I'm the one with the heavy accent).

Oh trust me, I have a high appreciation for the boots, especially the long black leather ones. ;)

One of female avatar on STO is in those boots and matching short skirt. My wife questioned this (despite hers being the exact same) and I just told her it's what Roddenberry would have wanted. A fitting memorial.

So it would appear the Axanar Marines are now stooping to giving crappy fake reviews of members of the I Stand With CBS group.

I've yet to converse with an Axanar Pretend Marine who's bright enough to have researched and composed that fake review, error-filled though it was. To a man they seem to be butt stupid.

Fish rots from the head down. What's Alec Peters got to say about this?

I'm not participating there. But ten billion Little Dutch boys with MACO patches ain't gonna stop the tsunami. The fans will get it eventually that their donations are paying for a studio for someone who in all likelihood knew CBS would never let him get away with it.

That is a pretty serious charge. Do we really need to go there?

I haven't seen any evidence that that is the case, and I've seen a lot of evidence that it isn't the case.

When Prelude came out and when the Vulcan scene was released, as far as I know all evidence is that that they at Axanar intended to produce and release an Axanar film that was at least as ambitious as the one they had promised and alluded to, and they believed they could do that.

As to what they believe now going forward, I won't speculate.

ok, I currently think it is likely considering the premeditated creation of a business to do things other than Trek, and then proceeding to fund it by Trek IP. but I will refrain from asserting any 'likely intentions' further here, that makes sense and I could be wrong. he's getting discovery and perhaps a trial, intent will eventually be revealed one way or another.

You are not haters. take it from someone that has done work on the production. We don't get all the info as well.

I see on the secret donors Facebook page they are selling restocked minis and it's OK because they are their designs. Surely all their ship designs are ripped off the JJ films they hate?

The Ares is not a rip off of the JJ designs, take it from the one who designed the ship. The others may be rehashes of the 2009 designs, but the Ares is a totally new design. (I speak here as just a Artist that has provided images for free to the project, I have no knowledge of the proceedings or opinion on the matter really)

Fair enough. The aesthetic is pleasing but reminds me of the films.
Understood. It is because my 2D design was translated into 3D by Tobias and he did a great job creating it, and he also wanted to make it feel like part of that Federation Fleet.

Just looks like a 23rd century version of the Titan to me.

Yeah, it's not necessarily the design itself, it's more the style of the presentation. The effects do very much look like a conscious attempt to immitate the aesthetic introduced in Star Trek (2009). There's some irony in that, though, considering how much the Axanar fans are hating on the JJ Abrams movies.

Discounting closed threads and the non-Trek fora, this thread is Number 7 of all time in number of replies:

1. Seven Words in TNG - 20,781 (The Next Generation)
2. Star Trek A to Z - 15,484 (General Trek Discussion)
3. VOY Story - Five Words at a Time - 14,310 (Voyager)
4. The Great "DS9 5-world [sic] Story" Part 3 - 10,144 (Deep Space Nine)
5. The *NEW* Enterprise Five-Word Thingy! - 8,098 (Enterprise)
6. Last Star Trek Episode You Watched - 7,700 (General Trek Discussion)
7. CBS/Paramount sues to stop Axanar - 6,261 (Fan Productions)

...and the top six are all forum games. So this is the number one thread (in number of replies) devoted to a specific discussion topic. The nearest runner-ups would be "So What Are You Reading?: Generations" in Trek Lit (5,340 replies) and "STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS - Grading & Discussion [SPOILERS]" in Star Trek Movies XI+ (5,289 replies).

Alex Peters and his enterprise are the most popular source of open discussion amongst Star Trek fans over the last 15 years. Great job, Mr. Peters!
