Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 1

It sounds like they can't use that version of the character at all, so I don't know if recasting would make a difference if was still meant to be the character who was on Arrow earlier this season.

The only thing Guggenheim says about Constantine in the quoted article is "we were given the character with the understanding and the agreement that this is a one-off." He never said that couldn't potentially change in the future. And it's the same thing they've been saying ever since the news of Ryan's appearance on Arrow first broke, so there's no new information there. All this means, presumably, is that it would take further negotiations to arrange further appearances. They're not in a position to raise our hopes about it, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. Like most things in Hollywood, it's just a question of whether a deal can be struck. And nobody wants to announce the results of a deal before it's made. Silence about a prospect doesn't mean the prospect is impossible -- if anything, it often means the opposite, that it's under serious consideration and nobody wants to risk blowing the deal by blabbing about it prematurely.

No harder than explaining why someone born in Egypt 4000 years ago looks like Falk Hentschel or Ciara Renee or Caspar Crump.
Ciara seems like way more "realistic" as an ancient Egyptian than the white guys.

I think the point is... if they were reincarnated in China, that could be hard to explain, depending on how that process works.

On a lighter note, it'd be nice to hear Hunter & someone else have a conversation

"I have had intense debates about who makes a good companion with the Doctor..."

"Who???"

I think this is a fun series....but wonder why it is NOT a midseason bridge series like Agent Carter? Seems like it's better suited for that, rather than overload us with 4 shows on 2 networks

I just watched the episode and I was a little underwhelmed. I think it probably will get much better, but the entire way of introducing the characters and bringing them onto Rip's ship was completely reminiscent of a writing style to bring the team together from comics of decades ago. I agree that there should have been a story that introduced the characters more organically. I also don't like the idea that everyone is on board because they want to be "legends". That just comes across as pretty lame to me.

To my Caucasian eyes, she does look a bit closer, but an actual Egyptian would probably disagree.

Only if they were reincarnated to ethnically Chinese parents, say. My point is that if there's already a range of different types of people living there, then they could be born to one of those families. Lots of countries have historically had more ethnic diversity than film and TV tend to acknowledge.

Well, it's only 3 shows on one network as far as this version of the DC Universe is concerned. And Berlanti actually has six shows currently on the air -- his production company is also behind two NBC series, Blindspot and the oddly titled The Mysteries of Laura.

As for why it's not a midseason bridge, the season is expected to be 16 episodes long, which is too much for a bridge.

Not necessarily. Air two episodes a week in place of both Arrow and Flash, and you're the same or shorter than Agent Carter will be this year.

Atom is the only one who wants to be a "Legend".
Hawks wanna kill Savage, Sara wants to get away from her past, Stein wants to experience time travel, Jax was roofied and Snart and Mick just wanna knick stuff.

Well, maybe The CW wanted a show to strengthen them on Thursday nights, and since the Berlantiverse was strong for them on two nights a week, they tapped it for a third. Networks have to consider their entire schedules, beyond any single group of linked shows.

Just watched it. Not too bad, could be a fun show. The drugging thing was creepy, but as for Hawkgirl going because she lost a fight...wagering whether or not she'd go on a fight was her idea. What I find creepier is Hawkman's behavior towards her because they're reincarnated lovers destined to be together. She should act like she wants to have a choice in the matter.

They dropped at least a couple of Star Wars references, but missed a potentially cute opportunity to have somebody drop a reference in 1975 and have somebody from that year not get it.

When I saw Jax get drugged... I thought "holy shit, in real life is he Mr T's kid, mother####! that is Mr T's kid and this is a homage to every damn episode of the A-Team!!!"

Apparently not.

I guess I'm racist.

Meh.

Franz is British.

(They're everywhere!)

He used to be in a fairly good britcom called Some Girls about young chavs and their no-hoper boyfriends.

Guess it's creepier when it's an older professor drugging somebody who's about the right age to be one of his students, than when the guy being drugged is the tough guy who could tear everyone else apart.

"I ain't gettin' on no timeship flown by no British guy from the future, fool!"

He was in Attack the Block with John Boyega, maybe they figured they had the next Star Wars success on their hands.

I noticed that a few minutes ago looking though Franz's imdb.

I think those three might pass better in Egypt than in the family of Mr. Han.

Again, I'm not convinced an actual Egyptian would agree. If anyone reading this is from that part of the world, feel free to chime in. (Although the ethnic composition of the Egyptian population 4000 years ago was probably somewhat different than it is today.)

Sure, but as I said, it bugs me a bit that the only two characters who voted no and got overruled were the people of color. It's an unfortunate happenstance.

I'm hoping they'll get into that issue, that they'll have her assert her free will and decide not to play along with predestination. After all, this whole show is about people trying to change their fate.

But once her memories kick in, Shayera's going to hit him in the arm and say "You ass####! We could have already been ####ing for the last 4 months!! My #### is so mad at you! I almost died without sticking your #### in my mouth! That is unforgivably rude, you total bastard!!!"

It Kendra's fault for not letting the Shayera personality murder her individuality faster.

It'd be different if they played it like she knew he was something that she'd felt had been missing for all of her life, but her attitude is more like, "OK, I guess, if you say so. I used to serve coffee at Not Starbucks, what do I know?"
