I've just googled this and all I'm getting is German media. Is it a German phrase? What are they saying about it precisely?

I've never heard "this is not a wish concert" in my life but the language does kinda make sense if it means... can't always get what you want.

This is like Loddar Matthäus translating everything literally. Klopp translated "Das Leben ist kein Wunschkonzert" literally... He could also have said "Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof" (life is not all guns and roses, but Ponyhof = pony farm)

Data comes to mind when it comes to phrases and idioms.....;)
 
It wouldn't surprise me if "this is not a wish concert" took off in England now. I like it.

The talent gap between Premier League and Championship League is ridiculous. Especially at the top. Premier league teams can basically throw anybody they want on the roster out to play in a cup game, and if the game gets close, they just send in a few stars to close the deal.

This is getting silly. Leicester get promoted to the premier league, the following season they struggle to stay up (and just scrape by in the end).

The season after that, they're top of the league and favourites to win it!
