Can you use a cordless keyboard to play games?

Hey anyone here play with keyboard and mouse? Do you use a cordless keyboard at all?

Currently have an issue with Just Cause 2

When playing the game my character keeps walking a few paces then stopping and I have to press W again to keep them moving. I am using a cordless keyboard but this shouldn't be an issue should it?

It seems to happen on and off and it's not deal breaking but I don't want this to happen in the middle of a fight. Should I keep using this or go back to a corded keyboard?

That's all I ever use.

Shouldn't be. Keyboard probably needs a better driver or is just plain cheap.

It used to be problematic, but any keyboard made in the last five years shouldn't have any noticeable latency issues. Mice, OTOH, are a different story, especially with high pixel-precision games like shooters.

I've had "stuck" key issues with some wireless keyboards, where a keyup signal doesn't go through properly and I have to hit the key again to register it. But I don't recall having it on any recent ones so I guess the technology has improved. All I ever use are wireless keyboards and mice/trackballs at home. Just a wired trackball at work but that was due to price, not reliability.

And of course, wireless gamepads are basically the norm now.

It's really weird. I let things run for a few hours after I had set it up and the issues I had just seemed to vanish.
