Enterprise Refit...

Atolm

Commodore

So being 2016, and seeing the trailer of the next Trek flic had me stewing a bit...I am sure the will or will not destroy the ship, but it is irrelevant to this post...as I am speculating on a Refit for her on my own.
Hope you guys like her, enjoy:

Amazing work as always, and you've really captured the spirit of the nuEnterprise (ie: secondary hull too far forward )

Absolutely beautiful, if not front heavy.

You might have something if you moved the saucer forward, leaving the neck where its at.

Interesting design indeed.
I would also recommend move the saucer forward... but this is your design, so run with it as you see fit. :)

Keep the saucer where it is and add a second saucer below the secondary hull. I'm joking! Nice drawing. :bolian:

Hey thanks mates!
In answer to some of the comment's to the saucer placement; I have always tried something new with my ships, but ironically I didn't with this one...Rather, I opted to use most of my tried concepts and merged them to fill my thoughts on a refit for the Enterprise. That saucer placement is one that I loved to use here and there, as it is structurally more sound, than it's normal placement, and more unique (at least in other fan and canon designs). The Enterprise in the new Films is perhaps the closest I have ever seen to something that I would have designed. Almost all the details used on her, I had explored in one way or another, years prior... I'm a conceptualist, it's what I do...lol. So When I saw the Ent, I was like, "Wow, nice! Something new and daring. Something I would have done." To me this refit is a first in many in exploration for me into a refit of the new Enterprise.
The Hardest thing to define with the New Ent is a look for a refit...meaning, in the Original TOS Ent, she was ultra-smooth and practical piece of art. While the TMP reft made the ship into less smooth, but more industrial and detailed. Now the new Enterprise, merged TOS and TMP in such a way, that you would have to create something more advanced and unique, but not so much as to be TNG. It's why I am leaning towards Fish musculature in the ship's grid lines.

Okay, I think I've typed enough to bore you guys, sorry.

I still want the saucer more forward--but my favorite take is having many different attachment points for the nacelle support pylons.

Instead of one atop the other--have the top most be the back (aft) most.

This will give a rakish look.

Very cool. :)

I've made a decision... I'm going to quit my job and build 3D models of your drawing full time.

I'll start tomorrow. :D

Thanks :) I try not to bore you guys too much.

yeah I can see that :)

Looks really cool. Actually, kind has a "spider" look to me. USS Arachnid is sister-ship?
Thanks! and *raises eyebrow*

LOL...I'd wish believe me :)

Looks great! I like how the nacelles are a mix of the TMP refit Enterprise and the Sovereign class.

I guess the reason I like the saucer more forward--with the lower sensor dome where it normally is--is that it makes the saucer look as if smiling. A nice full secondary hull is rather like the belly of the Buddha.

So you have this swan-like, smiling Buddha that passes near you--that's what makes the classic so good.

But a like the rear overhand on your saucer.

One extra possible drawing might be to make the saucer even wider--exposed sensor--but keep the overhang.

Imagine a rear lower 3/4 shot looking upward at the saucer overhang--above an astronaut.

In place of photon torpedo bay--put a semicircular ten-forward lounge there--so they can look forward, and see the sensor dome.

Thought better structurally--the saucer almost looks as if it's mouth is being choked a bit.

That might work better with a flat, pointed primary hull--more beaklike then

:) thanks, that was not my intent, but I can see it :)

maybe, As I stated she is a progressive design, so I can see what I can do :)
