It appears that the avatar image size has increased to 200x200. The current file size limit appears to be 1MB. Which might be a bit large file size wise for an avatar since the old board limited us to 140kb I believe. Something to ponder for future contests.

I'd like to run a contest with those guidelines. I learned the shrunken avatars in threads are just a miniature of your profile page but I didn't know about the increase in size. Perhaps I'll make it mandatory to put the avatars in quotes like you (Akiraprise) did in this thread so people can expand them to avoid lag on weaker PCs.

I believe I read during the testing phase that the system allowed you to upload an image as large as 200 x 200, but it would always resize it for display as 96 x 96. IIRC.

Looks like avatars are displaying much larger on profile pages than inline on the forums themselves.

This is true. It knocks them down to 96x96. So the question is do we use the 200x200size for future contests or 96x96? I kind of like smaller sizes because it forces people to be kind of creative to get their theme across.

I'd rather keep it at 200x200 for now, as I'm hoping Antony will eventually restore avatar sizes to the bigger size.
