    Off topic but relevant to this quote

    Funny. They sent home a "Healthy Foods We Eat" beginning reader booklet with my Kindergartener. A couple of pages said, "Corn is good for you." Opposite page was, "Bread is good for you." And it was a loaf of white bread.

    I wrote a teacher a long note about how I studied the subject and I wasn't reading this propaganda to my child. As an alternative we chose a sight words book ironically about cupcakes, but after we read about it we replaced 'cupcake' with favorite fruits and a veggie. And expanded on her nutrition talk so not to take away from her lesson. Teacher wrote back, "If you only other parents in this class were as attentive as you." Catarina FTW! :D
