Agents of SHIELD: Season 3 - Discussion (SPOILERS LIKELY)

The numbers are actually pretty stable, though not outstanding. I can certainly think of better spin-off ideas than Mockingbird and Hunter, but I like them both so I'll give them a chance.

I like them both too, but I'm not sure about a spin off centering around them. More than likely I'll check it out.
The UK are finally getting round to starting with season 3 tonight as well

It's alright. It's heavily center around a movie Feige doesn't want to do anymore, but alright.
I hope you're not basing this on the completely debunked rumors that Marvel doesn't want an Inhumans movie anymore.

I thought Loeb and Feige weren't getting along with eachother as much as before. I believe it had something to do with miscommunications in the notes they were to send to each other about upcoming events.

There's no indication of that. The only people who reportedly didn't get along were Feige and Perlmutter. They solved that by making it so he didn't have to report to him.

The same people who claimed there was a fight over Inhumans and Loeb using them (the whole claim basically could be summed up as Feige taking his ball and going home) also said they had abandoned an Iron Fist show in favor of the Punisher. Both rumors were quickly denied (not only officially, but by reporters with actual sources). The underlying theory that Feige didn't want to do Inhumans now that Loeb used them was completely contradicted by claims from Clark Gregg that the movie isn't going to have anything to do with the show's Inhumans and the fact that the show is steering as clear as possible from the royal family. Really, the whole thing came off as "make something up and see if people believe it."

Yeah, it's been resolved by the shakeup in hierarchy. Regardless, it wouldn't have meant that Feige didn't want to do an Inhumans movie.

I like the characters on the show, but a series would be too much.
My initial thought as well, but I will reserve judgement. My wife isn't a comic book fan but they are two of my wife's favourite characters. There could be a broader appeal to them among regular viewers.

My main concern with the new spin-off isn't with the characters or the actors (who have fantastic chemistry) but whether or not the show will be able to distinguish itself enough from AoS. 'Agent Carter' works alongside because--despite also being a spy show--feels a whole different genre, with the period setting and tone tipped slightly more towards the comedic.

I suspect this new show will probably go the dark comedy route (like the recent 'Ash vs The Evil Dead') because the ultra gritty crime/underworld thing seems to already be covered by the Netflix shows. Whether that will end up being any good remains to be seen of course, but I'll certainly give it a fair chance.

I also was talking about continuity issues. I just hope the "not reporting" doesn't effect that. The continuity between productions is what I like most about the MCU.

A new marvel half-hour series called “Damage Control” is supposed to be on ABC sometime this year too. It’s supposed to be more comical as opposed to the more serious tone of Marvel’s other series.
In the comics the “Damage Control” team cleans up after messes created by the Avengers during the super-hero fights with the bad guys. IMO, I think cleaning up after super-hero fights in the MCU was originally the responsibility of Shield. But since the collapse of Shield following the events of “Winter Solider” and that Coulson’s smaller-scale Shield is focused on fighting Hydra, I’d say the Damage Control team was created after “Winter Soldier” to fill the “damage control” void since super powered people fights are still bound to happen. The Damage Control team will likely do clean up for the Avengers following “Civil War” and probably the messes created from Coulson’s team's encounters with powered people and Hydra too.
