So a telemarketer called my house today.

I answered with a plan in mind.

"Hello, is this the person who controls the electric bill?"

Saw someone suggest that earlier on social media and couldn't resist.

And since it was a scammer who was trying to switch my electric utility without consent (they get you to say "yes" and then do as they want based upon such) I feel totally justified in it as well.

Really? There are scammers trying to switch your electric ultility over the phone?

We just have the people who come door-to-door. Their hustle is that they tell you they need to see your electric bill. They act as though they're entitled to see it.

It's like, "No, if PECO really wants you to have our billing information, then you can get it from them. We don't have to show you shit."

Sometimes they call posing as the utility company, saying service will be cut off if you don't pay immediately. And they try to get you to give them your credit card number.
