Axanar found 100K to cut from their budget....

They raised that roughly 650K and came back asking for 1.2 M more.....
yep, that they did. :) Well technically, they haven't asked for the second $600k. Yet.

Axanar just released their financial report. At the moment, it's for donors only.

Team Axanar is very proud to once again set the standard for financial accountability and transparency in the world of crowd funded projects with the revised Axanar Annual Report. This 23 page document outlines the finances of the Prelude to Axanar and Axanar Kickstarters, taking donors up through July 31st, 2015. This document includes:
Prelude to Axanar Financials - A line by line accounting of how that $101,171 was spent.
Axanar Kickstarter Financials - A category breakdown of the $638,471 raised and how it was spent, including an analysis of what changed from our initial expectations and why costs have risen or changed.
Also included is a section on lessons learned and accomplishments, as well as what is up for 2016.
Donors can download this report on the Facebook Axanar Donors Group, or find it in their Ares Digital Accounts.
There are many Star Trek fan films that are raising 6 figure amounts. But none show you exactly where that money is going. None gives you daily updates or visibility into the operations as Axanar does. This is our commitment to you.

That's cool and all. But nothing will end these discussions except the movie it's self. Filming should start in the next 4 or five weeks. Once it does there will be less complaints. Once the movie is released there will be nothing to complain about.

There's ALWAYS something to complain about...as these forums illustrate. :p

The Annual Report said, Filming will start in February, (So more like 7 weeks).

I am encouraged with the "Lessons Learned" section, however, It still looks like the production is blaming others for their poor delivery.

I'd be interested in reading it myself. There's no mention of any plans to make it public at this point.
AFAIK, Axanar had the "early 2016" filming schedule locked in for at least half a year, perhaps more.

If memory serves, Axanar made their previous financials public. Curious to see if they make this one as well. Or if they don't, what reasons they not doing so.

There, fixed it. ;)

Which is still a point of frustration for me.

No.

Why would we? What vested interest does a non-donor have in our finances? Our fiduciary obligation is to our donors, not the general public.
If a potential donor wanted to see it I would be happy to provide.

Well, to be fair, they're sharing it with the people who've given them money. Why would they open their books to a fanbase who like to nitpick every detail 'til there's nothing left but bones? :)

Oh they don't have to. I just think there's a teecy-weency bit of cognitive dissonance there, that's all. :)

Meh. The donors have the internet, so unless there is some legal mumbo-jumbo protecting the document from dissemination, I imagine if you REALLY wanted to see it, you could.
