Now that CBS has ordered it, I know series love long arcs, but I would prefer some of the established arc wrap up by season's end. There's many stories to be told without the aunt / Lord business going on and on. I hope they can take advantage of the DC universe that's not tied to the coming JL movies, and that's quite a lot.

Yay. "One of the fall's top-rated new shows." So much for the fears that the show was suffering in the ratings.
Interesting phrasing in the article... "“Supergirl” has had faith from the CBS from the get-go." Is that a typo, or a Variety style-guide holdover from when the network's full official name was "The Columbia Broadcasting System"?
I thought the show was suffering in the Ratings. They seemed to be going down each week.
Only 20 episodes, just short of the usual 22 or 23.

Still, a lot of shows these days favor having shorter seasons, because it means less filler and more time to devote to each episode. Given Supergirl's rather spectacular VFX, a 20-episode season would have more time and money per episode than a 22-episode season and could therefore have better visuals.
That's twice now today I've read about episode story lines being dragged out therefore I am starting a petition to get hour long shows cut to a tighter 30 minute format.![]()

I'd like some of these arcs to wrap up before the season end. One of my problems with Season 1 of The Flash was it felt like there were some arcs that were just dragged out (Like Iris being kept in the dark). I don't want that to happen in this show, but I know it will.
