The TOS Sequel Episode That Never Happened....

All this strongly suggests (to me) that Spock discerned something was drastically wrong pretty damned fast.

Yes, that's pretty much what I've concluded after many, many rewatches over the years. We see Mirror-Kirk thrown into the brig what, 15 minutes into the episode, if that?

If they'd wanted to handle it differently, though, it would have been a great candidate to expand into a two-part episode...one focusing on the regular crew in the mirror universe, and the other vice versa.

That's pretty much what I would've loved to have seen. I just love that episode so much that I want more of it. :)

Hence my "if they'd handled it differently"...Mirror Kirk behaved that way in the actual episode because it suited the story. Given a fuller episode treatment, he might have been as clever as our Kirk, quickly realized what was going on, and played along while plotting, scheming, and trying not to give himself away.

Charlie XI - Charlie Evans returns to the Enterprise for revenge. He fails. He dies.

The Squire Of Gothos Part 2 - Trelane returns for revenge. He fails. He dies.

The City On The Edge Of Forever Part 2 - Edith Keeler returns with vengeance on her mind. She fails. She dies.

Assignment: Earth
It's a little too thematically similar to Doctor Who, so much so that it would probably be dismissed as a DW ripoff
I would imagine that Doctor Who would have been all but unknown to the majority of Americans in the late 1960's.

And other than the young woman as his "companion" the similarities are actually pretty thin. Gary Seven was Human, was very non-eccentric, had no (apparent) time travel abilities, did have a transporter device, and when his computer spoke the audience could understand it.

And really, isn't Doctor Who supposed to observe only, and not interfere? Which is opposite of Gary Seven.

Not a ripoff at all.

^Not only that, but American audiences of the era would have much more readily seen him as part of the spy genre that was so in at the time.

Where No Man Has Gone Before. If there was ever a villain itching to make a comeback it was Gary Mitchell. I was hoping that was the way Into Darkness was going to go, but to my disappointment they went with the Khan re-tread.

The City On The Edge Of Forever Part 2 - Edith Keeler returns with vengeance on her mind.

:rommie:

Oh, there was a sequel. Edith Keeler was revealed to be Khan's ex and The Rani's sister. She also managed to seduce the former away from the latter (no doubt in some nefarious plot to take over the world) and the conned some oil from Charlie 'The-Angel's-Boss'.

Not many Trekkies know about it. If you wanted to catch it, you had to tune into 'Dynasty' to catch it.:mallory:

Oh, she was Charlie Townsend's ex too. That was how she was introduced, remember. And I recall her having some knowledge of Abraham Lincoln's doings as Charlie's butler, too.

I had to think about that for a second:lol: At first I thought it was a Star Trek/Dr. Who crossover novel before I realized what you were describing:guffaw:

I said 'catch it' twice in the same sentence and left the 'm' out of 'them'. Fuck me. :alienblush::brickwall:

there was a DS9 story treatment that would have a been a great continuation of "A Piece of the Action" per Memory Alpha
Before it was decided they would focus on the events of " Trouble with Tribbleshttp://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/The_Trouble_with_Tribbles_(episode)", the Deep Space Nine writing staff toyed with the idea of the DS9 crew visiting Sigma Iotia II and finding they had all imitated the Enterprise crew and wore TOS-style uniforms. This was to be both a comedy and a social commentary on the Trekkie phenomenon; however, it was agreed that revisiting the famous "The Trouble with Tribbles" would be more memorable

[Kor]It would have been glorious...[/Kor]
