Jessica Jones-- Marvel/Netflix

I didn't know that his power was pheromonal. Makes sense since he couldn't influence Jessica over the phone. I figured it was just a conceit that a person had to be in his presence or something.

What I like about the character is that he doesn't come off like a fantastical super-powered villain. He's more of an exaggerated version of a real manipulator.

I wonder why the show spells Kilgrave with one L.

Not on the 12-year-old TV I have. Unless you know where I can get a MicroUSB-to-coaxial adapter.
Why not just buy a LED TV set? You can get a 32 inch TV for as little as 200 bucks these days. You could then hook it up to your laptop and stuff. It really is worth it.

No doubt because it's less corny that way. A bad guy named Kill-grave is a bit on the nose.

Money's been tight lately, and I just had to buy a new laptop (which hasn't arrived yet). Believe me, I'm not unaware of the options -- they just aren't practical for me right now.

And it's not a very common surname in our home town either.

Yeah, I hear you. I know what it's like to be short on cash. You're forced to prioritize.

So ear- and noseplugs, then.

It's pheromonal in the comics, which it is not in the TV show, but even then pheromones can be absorbed via skin contact to "saturated" air.

They explain what it is, 3 quarters the way through the tv show.

Did they keep breaking the front door to distance the TV show from the comic book's name?

I still can't believe that Jenifer Garner's Alias TV show is a still a problem for these people, any more than Alias Smith and Jones from the 1970s might be.

Or orders 10 people to mob you and tear a hole in it.

Honestly, she had her best opportunity to kill him waaay back in the second episode. Stand above him while he's under a skylight, then drop a paving stone at his head.

Finished this last night and really enjoyed it. Ritter did a great job portraying a "broken" superhero trying to get by after her life was shattered, and Tennant stole the show as Kilgrave, an equal parts compelling and utterly terrifying villain. Colter is perfect as Luke Cage (he was excellent on The Good Wife as well).

I thought I could get through the whole season by tonight but I can't. Too tired. I have one episode left which I'll watch tomorrow night.

Mild teasing ahead but no spoilers...

Jessica Jones was a fun ride with lots of turns and surprises. I thought this was your standard show where you know where it's going and it's only a matter of how they get there but it's not that kind of show. It didn't unfold the way I thought it would.

Events also had me wiki-ing some of the characters.

Turns out our cop guy is an established Marvel character named Nuke. Love the actor's name, Wil Traval. I wonder if he knows Hav Gunn. He's also got a rather interesting acting style.

It's a pity Nuke didn't go Flagface, or he didn't stand off against Captain America.

Is it possible they're saving that for later?

Nuke used to originally be the face of Viet Nam, a failure of a war personified by a delusional failure of a man from every angle... But Marvel-time has adjusted and adjusted which failure war America lost that Nuke is the shamed face of... Is Gulf War II really as enough a Charlie Foxtrot as the Nam?

Regardless, just because every Supersolider since Steve Rogers has been an abject disaster, it doesn't mean that these monsters were entirely undeployable.

Would it be a little effed up to put Sam Wilson's tenure as Captain America inbetween the big movies on a few TV shows? but really? Does Chris really cost that much? Before the MCU he was in what? The FF movie? Why is Evans deserving a massive payday? It's like Marvel made a monster who turned on them.

15 years ago Chris was in a quickly cancelled drama called The Opposite Sex with the most desirable woman in the universe, Allison Mack, which I just found on Youtube in it's entirety.

I have a rather compact smartphone. I'd prefer waiting to watch until I can see it on a decent-sized screen.

There are smartphones with a tv-out. If you have one of them you can watch it on your tv :)

Like this one?

($36.99 on Amazon.com)

Obviously your smartphone must implement the MHL protocol on the microusb jack.
