[CONFIRMED] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finish!

Re: [RUMOUR] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finish!

The banner is gone (if it was ever there).

Stop teasing us, David, and just tell us already! :scream:

The banner was still there when I clicked on the link just now...

Oh, that's weird. It didn't work before but now it is.

I blame the shitty IE browser I have to use at work.

Re: [RUMOUR] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finish!

A thread at Gallifrey Base claims the announcement will be at 10am UK time, although I don't know where they got the time from since it's not mentioned in the tweet.

When BF do their recordings, are the actors in the same place at the same time, like they would be for the TV show?

I would hope so, since that would be important for the chemistry to work.

Re: [RUMOUR] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finish!

I think they do make their best to accomodate the actors involved, so I think in their case, they would have them record at the same place and time.

I have been trying to move away from buying the physical releases and go purely digital, since I rip the discs anyway and then they sit on a shelf gathering dust but I'll have to buy the Limited Edition release for this one.

As Emperor-Tiberius said, they accommodate the actors' schedules as best as possible but they do try to have everyone present at the same time.

That being said, there are have been plenty of instances where actors weren't there at the same and you can't tell at all in the final product.

Re: [RUMOUR] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finish!

I think at least for the recent Tom Baker/Lalla stuff, they keep them seperate since they're divorced and haven't seen each other in a while, so it would be awkward.

The official news release.

The series opens with Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Technophobia by Matt Fitton, which is set in a London slightly in the future, where mankind is gradually losing its ability to use everyday technology. Could there be an evil force at work?

In Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Time Reaver by Jenny T Colgan the Doctor and Donna arrive on Calibris - ‘An entirely mechanical planet. Catch, hitch, fuel, fix, buy, pretty much any kind of transportation in existence.’ It’s also a world full of scoundrels, where a deadly black market has opened up in a device known only as the Time Reaver.

Finally, in Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures: Death and the Queen by James Goss, Donna is swept along in a fairytale romance and meets the man of her dreams in the beautiful land of Goritania. What can possibly go wrong? And why has the Doctor never heard of Goritania?

'I’ve enjoyed working with all the Doctors on TV, but David is the only one I’d known before he became the Doctor,' says executive producer Nicholas Briggs. 'I’d worked with him on our Dalek Empire series for Big Finish and had such fun. So along with the excitement of directing new Tenth Doctor adventures, I’m so happy to be working with an old chum again.'

Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures is produced by David Richardson, script edited by Matt Fitton and James Goss and directed by Nicholas Briggs.
'This is one of those dream projects where I’ve spent months pinching myself. I’m covered in bruises,’ says David. ‘With two major international stars in place, and the legacy of this era of the TV show to live up to, we’ve worked our socks off to try and make some very special stories for this box set. Expect adventure, fun, scares... and some tears too.'

Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures will be released in May 2016 - exclusively on the Big Finish website. Each of the three titles are available to pre-order separately today for just £10.99 on CD or £8.99 to download. A bundle of all three titles is also available for £25 on CD and £22 to download!

All three stories are also available in the Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 1 – Limited Edition set. Limited to just 5,000 copies and available exclusively from bigfinish.com, and the lavish book-sized box set includes exclusive artwork, photography, articles and a one-hour documentary featuring interviews with the stars and production team. You can pre-order the set today at the special price of £30 on CD or £25 to download – offering a £5 discount against the standard price!!
There's also a video of David and Catherine talking about the stories.

I can't watch the video right now, but this is very exciting!

Awesome to finally get official confirmation. Should be great!

Re: [RUMOUR] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finish!

I didn't see this earlier, but the full synopsis and cast information for each story are listed on each of the order pages (linked in my post). Lots of familiar names to series and Big Finish fans alike: Terry Molloy, Alice Krige (as Queen Mum), Dan Starkey, Beth Chambers, John Banks, and Niky Wardley! And those are just the names I recognize.

The writers are Matt Fillion, Jenny T. Colgan, and James Gross. Great set of writers!

Re: [CONFIRMED] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finis

Wow. I have to admit I got kinda bored with the DW audio books a while ago... but that was freakin awesome. They sounded so much like they used to that it was like listening to a missing Series 4 episode. :D

Re: [CONFIRMED] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finis

Every bit of zany fun I expected this to would be.

It helps that Big Finish doesn't do audio books. They do audio plays. Not all of their work is great, but so much if it is very enjoyable, and often times I find it more enjoyable than current Doctor Who.

Re: [CONFIRMED] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finis

Maybe at some point they can rope Georgia Moffat in for a story so the Doctor and Donna can have an unexpected reunion with Jenny!

Re: [CONFIRMED] David Tennant & Catherine Tate signed up for Big Finis

Wouldn't be too hard to do since she's worked with Big Finish before.

That being said, I'm one of the few who hated that episode and I loved everything about that season otherwise.
