Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Just imagine, in front of The Force Awakens, trailers for:

Superman v. Batman
Suicide Squad
Deadpool
X-Men: Apocalypse
Captain America: Civil War
Star Trek Beyond
AND
Star Wars: Rogue One

There may be a lot of nerds having heart attacks on December 17th.

For me, the trailers are the best part.

You can always try to walk in 10 minutes late. Of course, depending on when you go, you might not want to do that with Star Wars. You might be nose up against screen.

I usually try to get to the theater a little bit late so I don't have to sit through the commercials before the trailers, or through quite so many trailers.

Among my circle of friends I'm known as quite the early bird when it comes to any sort of engagement. As such, I tend to be blamed for all the pre-movie commercial spam we get inflicted with.

Of course, it depends on how good the trailers are compared to the movie. I retroactively sat through "The Hobbit" just so I could see the 10-minute preview of STiD!

... and back in 1991, I went to see "Regarding Henry" so I could catch the STVI trailer (the one that just had TOS scenes projected on the TMP Enterprise). Talk about dedication.

On twitter.

J C P - @jpelc2 "is JJ going to do a solid and put a trailer before #TFA? Would be perfect audience to target - everyone!"
Lin liked his comment.

I'm beginning to believe that the trailer for Star Trek Beyond will debut before Star Wars.

What would be better: Before or on SW debut?

Jesus. Funnily enough theres a Trek (& Wars) connection there though. JJ wrote that film

The upside of débuting before TFA is the sheer unfathomable volume of audience. The downside is maybe people be like Star Trek? Who cares?! Bring on Wars!!

Hah -- I had forgotten about that connection. I'm actually an original fan of Felicity, which was Abrams' first large project (also featured his cadre of usual actors who appear in all his movies, like Greg Grunberg and Amanda Foreman).

In most cinemas I visit, it's 3-5 commercials for non-movie products, then 4 trailers for upcoming movies. Then the main attraction.
