Trek Typos

An early fanzine referred to the brand new series as Stark Trek, leaving one to wonder what that was about!

A long trip to Winterfell.

A lost weekend with Tony Stark

A grim dystopian future journey.
A long walk across a sweltering nude beach.

Well, if it had been from a trade publication instead, I would have easily interpreted it as the anticipation of a numbing slog through poorly imagined alien scenarios, all resulting in a predictable single season excursion.

Dr. Owaga
Barklay
Guynan

...all with my own eyes

^^LMAO at Neyres and Lurkor, above

(those I typod, in my infancy, here!)

For the longest time, like into the 2000s, I thought it was Jonathan Franks... I read it wrong the first time (as a little kid way back in the 80s) and it stuck.

That's ok. As a little kid, I used to think it was Leonard Nimony until I actually read the name more closely. :)

"Bela Oxmyx" is spelled one way in the TOS credits / onscreen posters seen in "A Piece of the Action" and another way in episode guides. There were Ks in there on the show, I think.

I still see "Nemoy" in less-fannish areas . . . like our local small town newspaper. :)

Oh wow, that exactly what I thought his name was until he appeared on Password back in the day, and Allen Ludden said his name. I remember telling my sister, "its pronounced Neemoy". He even had a pair of Spock ears with him.

Aye, I remembered hearing Nimoy himself pronouncing his own name at one point, and I honestly don't remember how old I was when he said it. It may have been during an episode of "In Search Of...", and I was a wee laddie back then. :)

I confess: I always have to look up "Lwaxana" and "B'Elanna."

And I'm not sure I realized Trip wasn't spelled "Tripp."

(Then again, ENTERPRISE is the one Trek series I've never written for.)

Uhura still occasionally gets misspelled as Ohura. (Insert your own "Black Irish" joke.)

Maybe because it rhymes with Kid Monk Baroni?

I've said this before here, but however incredibly embarrassing, here it is again. I always thought, and I can't use youth as an excuse, that warp nacelles was spelled warpness cells. Essentially, I thought some other element of engineering was being referred to, yeah whatever.

Ha ha, love this thread.

Oh some favorites other posters beat me to:
O'hura
Kahn
Chekhov

and...

James R. Kirk
Mister Solo
Jean Luke
LeVar Burton
Whoopee!
Whorf
K'Lair /Klayhr/Kehehlehehr, etc.
Dukhat (quack quack)
Kristie Alley
Deforest Kelly/Kelley (timber!)
Harley/Harly Ellison
and
Jolene Balock instead of Blalock (conjuring Balok in TOS' The Corbomite Maneuver).

:D
