Harry Sullivan - the IMBECILE (maybe its good Ian Marter isn't around any more to find that's Harry's legacy)

Didn't the Doctor call Harry an imbecille in Revenge Of The Cybermen?
yes

I think Matt Smith would have rocked that speech. He was often portrayed as silly, but it was his darker, more serious moments that made him my favorite Doctor.

For me, when Capaldi was giving the speech I could really "hear" Smith saying it. Since Moffat was kicking around this story back in the Smith era, it makes sense that portions were written with Smith in mind. The phrasing, the lilt and even the way Capaldi waved his arms about a times sure reminded me of Smith.

A major improvement on part one. Far too many plot holes to make it a truly excellent story, but at least it was an entertaining one this time. The Doctor's speech was of course the highlight of the episode, closely followed by the dream confrontation between Clara and Bonnie. And superb performances all round. If Capaldi doesn't get at least a Bafta nomination there's no justice.

Doctor Who Magazine's details on the final three episodes

Face The Raven features, in addition to Rigsy and Ashildr, The Judoon. Apparently Rigsy needs to be "exonerated" and there is a street where aliens hide in plain sight. There is a "huge shock" during the episode.

For Heaven Sent/Hell Bent, here's a quote:"I confess, I know the hybrid is real, I know where it is, I know what it is, I confess: I am afraid"-The Doctor

Confirmed for the finale now are Clara, and the Sisterhood of Karn, as well as cameos from several old monsters

Moffat describes The Doctor of Hell-Bent as angry and off-the-rails

- 'Face the Raven' was initially going to be called 'Trap Street', and it features alien opinions on humans that are meant to be sincere. The 'raven' is to do with a tattoo on Rigsy's neck, counting down his remaining life (like that Justin Timberlake film, I guess).
- there's a scene in 'Heaven Sent' where the Doctor is collapsed in the TARDIS, and is imagining the TARDIS there only to explain what's really happening. The scene was the first one Capaldi filmed for the episode and is heart-breaking.
- not just more monsters to be announced for 'Hell Bent'; the cast list only notes Capaldi and Coleman, with 'many more' to be announced and Clare Higgins noted within the article.
- 'Hell Bent' draws together plenty of elements from across the series, even ones we didn't expect to matter.
- the episode's title comes from Capaldi being hell-bent, as related to Cameron Samurai's quote above.
- the synopsis for the episode does state that the Hybrid in the prophecy is half-Time Lord, half-Dalek.

Well I am very late this week. I can't say I have much to say that hasn't been said.

I rated both parts good. Each had things I really liked and things that were just stupid and hateful.

Man, I bet the Hybrid will be this year's "Why Moffat, Why?" creation. After last year's afterlife fiasco, this should be the ludicrous icing of the cake.

It occurred to me this morning with how Asylum of the Daleks gave us splinter Clara inside a Dalek shell that Moffat is going to retcon that as being foreshadowing the hybrid in the finale and will tie it in somehow to Clara having to die. We are probably going to get some ridiculous and convoluted storyline that ties Everything in Who together.

This is my fanfic speculation of what the finale will be:
Splinter Clara went back to Gallifrey and became a Time Lord, somehow merged with a Dalek to become the Hybrid. This scared the Doctor into running away. The Hybrid survived the Time War and is threatening Gallifrey. The Doctor finds Gallifrey, confronts the Hybrid but cannot defeat it. Davros and the Daleks also learn of the Hybrid and come to Gallifrey to try to get the Hybrid to join them. But, only Clara can stop it since the Hybrid is made up of one of her splinters. Clara somehow merges mind with the Hybrid's mind to convince it to become good since Clara is good but the mind meld process kills Clara. The Hybrid, now has the mind of Clara, feels guilty for what it has done and also realizing the danger that it poses to the universe being part-Dalek, sacrifices itself to save Gallifrey. But before sacrificing itself, the Hybrid speaking as Clara because it has her mind, says a tearful goodbye to the Doctor, telling him how much She/Clara cared for him. Gallifrey is now saved and is able to return to normal space. It is a bitter sweet moment for the Doctor as he has both lost the companion he cared for but has brought his home planet and his people back.

That's as convoluted as a Moffat story. Hey you might be onto something :)

Honestly, this stuff revealed about the Hybrid is just making me think Dalek Sec wearing Time Lord's robes.

It'll save them time and money from designing anything new.

Nah that's too convoluted, even for the Moff. :)

I actually thought it was quite a good idea inline with Moffat's tendency towards convolution! Except for the part of bringing Gallifrey back. It sounds like he doesn't want that.

I agree that Moffat may not actually bring Gallifrey back but I do have a sneaky suspicion that Gallifrey will play a big role in the finale. The title "heaven sent" just makes me think of Gallifrey. Poetically, we can think of Gallifrey as being like Heaven: a beautiful place that exists on a different plane of existence.

Plus, it's a finale. I fully expect Moffat to go big and reference Gallifrey, the Time War, the Impossible Girl, Daleks, Davros, Missy, Ashildr, the Doctor's big secret for why he ran away, etc...

I wonder if a theoretical Time Lord/Dalek hybrid will be there to "keep the peace" the way the Osgood/Zygon hybrids did.

So what was Missy going to propose to the Daleks at the end of "The Witch's Familiar". Was she going to climb into one of them? eh?

Dalek/Time Lord truce?

In the immortal words of Max Schreck, "Yawn."

No, not a truce, a cold war always on the verge of becoming a hot war. Proxy battles, etc. I think any one who lived through the cold war will tell you that it was not yawn worthy!
