What writers would you want for new trek series?

Michael Taylor?

Maybe some of the writers from Continuum, who are presumably up for grabs now.

Bring in some literary science fiction writers, and also make good use of established television writers. Here are some ideas:

Larry Niven
Harlan Ellison
Ursula K. Le Guin
Chris Carter
Joss Whedon
Vince Gilligan
Dennis P. Bailey

Didn't Neil Gaiman script a DOCTOR WHO ep or two?

Wonder if he has any interest in STAR TREK?

Or you could go really crazy and try to get Stephen King to do an episode just for fun.

(Don't laugh! If Robert Bloch and Richard Matheson could write for STAR TREK, why not Stephen King?)

Another idea: Get Norman Spinrad to do a sequel/reboot to "The Doomsday Machine." Norman is still around and writing and living in Paris last I heard . . . .

I'd suggest Harlan Ellison, but that would be opening a completely different can of worms! :)

I hope Neil Gaiman is a better writher than a singer....

I'd like to see a J Michael Straczynski penned episode.
Me, too. And one by Keith R.A. DeCandido, one by Greg Cox, and one by David Mack, too.

Other suggestions:
Diane Duane
Peter Morwood
Margaret Wander Bonanno
Arthur Byron Cover
David Weber
Manny Coto
Joss Whedon
Lawrence Kasdan
David E. Kelley
